Why Most Cocaine Rehab Programs Fail

There are a number of reasons why anyone can try cocaine. However, when one experiences the emotional ‘joy’ provided by cocaine, like many illicit drugs, the reason why anyone continues to use cocaine is usually the same for everyone as the drug offers relief from stress and health failure. This is the path that everyone follows in becoming an emotional drug addict.

Once addicted, there are as many different ways to regenerate cocaine as there were reasons to try the drug in the first place. This variety of cocaine rejuvenation results in varying results equally, especially when compared to the different types of individual addicts. Some psychological rehabilitation programs focus on counseling. Some medical-based programs focus on the substance of addiction. Each of these approaches produced very different outcomes with equally high rates of relapse.

Ironically, the obvious way to deal with both physical and emotional aspects of drug addiction in the rehabilitation program is apparently more effective with an unusually low rate of relapse. Clearly, coping with physical or emotional stress alone sets the stage for recovery and recovery, as statistics have shown over the past 30 years. This is where the 12-step plan fails. This is where easy arrest ends.

The physical characteristics of addiction are not well known in the medical community. It is thought that the body quickly adapts to the presence of drug residues. When the level of these drug residues drops below a certain level the body reacts in the same way as when you need food or water, the body goes hungry or craves a drink. What makes this system difficult to predict or fully understand is that explicit drug residues can clearly remain in the body for a long time and are a future source of “drug recurrence” that can occur even years after quitting drug use. An easy way to cleanse the body, and especially the fatty tissue that is known to store such substances, is essential to any active regeneration program. Either way is better than rehab which fails to deal with this aspect of addiction.

The emotional aspects of addiction are also less well known in the psychiatric community. It is thought that a person simply does not have the strength to stop using drugs or has a 'simple' reason for accessing drugs. Statistics seem to confirm that addicts become and remain addicted simply because they want to escape a certain aspect of their life that they cannot deal with or solve. This can be as simple as failing to finish high school. Drug use helped the addict ‘escape’ failing grades and completely addicted helped the addict ‘escape’ from school altogether. The same image applies to failed marriages, lost jobs, the death of a loved one, the loss of ‘youth’ love and so on. The simple fact is that a person who is completely addicted is now failing one life or another. And if it is not given the lost health potential it will probably revert to drug addiction after rehab. Basic life skills training goes a long way in successfully rehabilitating addicts in drug use simply because the reason why an addict who has access to drugs in the first place is so eliminated.
