Lionel Andrés Messi is the name that needs no explanation to the football fans or sports fans. He has done things that arguably cannot be done by any others in the times to come. He is godly by all means.
WHAT MAKES MESSI DIFFERENT :
Lionel Messi has the likes of Maradona, but I would still rate Messi higher above him because of the individual performances that Messi has shown in his whole career. He can single-handedly make a team upfront with his unimaginable performance levels.
INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCES:
The things Messi has done in his career cannot be done by any others. His talents are way above the league. He could make a difference at any moment for his team. We have seen him doing that with his national team for a very long time.
RECORDS:
He almost holds all the individual records, and he is still making records on every match he plays on. He currently has 6 Ballon d'Or, which nobody does have. He may arguably win his seventh Ballon d'Or this year for the top-notch performances he has shown the whole year .
WHY THERE WON'T BE ANYBODY LIKE HIM:
To recreate the things that he has done is never easy. That one cannot simply score 700+ Goals in his career. It is not just about goals, but he has shown that he has the jail contribution with the team he plays. He would make a difference with assists if not with the goals.
MESSI AS A COMPLETE PLAYER:
What differentiates Messi from Ronaldo is the ability to create goals. Messi can create goals against any team and any angle while Ronaldo waits for an opportunity- that is why most of his goals are tap-ins or penalties. You give Ronaldo the ball, slice through the field with his insane speed, dribble through 1–2 players. However, as he reaches the box, even still, he requires proper space to dribble; near the box, he doesn’t have much creativity or intuition, and hence most of the time, he tries to shoot out of the box, which explains why he has so many shots as compared to shots on target and less accuracy. His insane power in his shot helps him a lot in the out-of-box shoot. If he decides to enter the box, he mostly misfires or dives to get a penalty and if not all these, then he indeed score beautiful goals.
RONALDO VS MESSI :
Far better as a goalscorer. Far better as a playmaker. Be it dribbling, passing, creating chances, free kicks, controlling the game's tempo- Messi is superior to Ronaldo. Unlike Ronaldo, who is every time on the list for top divers in football history, Messi rarely dives and even admits sometimes to the referee that it isn’t a penalty or he dived. He has more team trophies won than Ronaldo. He has more major individual trophies won than Ronaldo. CR7 fans may now start ranting in the comment section, but I am pretty sure that the opinion of the people below matters more (take notice how many of them played for CR7 only

DRIBBLING:
Don’t look at the dribbling stats and say that Messi is not the best dribbler. Coz, one thing that stats doesn’t show is from where the dribble started. Most of the dribbles of those players who top the list would have started in the wings or their own half with only one defender near them at a time. Messi’s dribbles always don’t start from the wings; he often starts the run from the half-line and gets to the Dbox easily. When you look at Messi’s dribbles, you can see that many a time, more than 2 defenders are trying to block him and him dribbling past them successfully. He can come out of any difficult or even impossible situations. He can walk through the defenders as if no one is in his way.
As phenomenal as Messi is, I do not consider him to be the greatest of all time. Yes, we are privileged to have watched him play along with Ronaldo and others who have shown glimpses of brilliance. Add to that all the titles and stats, which makes this all the more absurd.
However, I have only one problem before calling him the greatest of all time. It's just that I cannot find common ground to compare him to the legends. Be it Pele or Maradona or Cruyff or Stefano or Puska,s they played different eras with different tactics, atmosphere, technology,y, etc.
Messi and Ronaldo, in my opinion, could be the greatest of the current generation, but I cannot compare them with the legends.
