Why Kpop (BTS) is becoming more famous in India?

India is the land of Bollywood. The nostalgic songs make us wonder about the golden era of Bollywood. The mainstream Bollywood industry contains varieties of genres of songs that are popular in India. Upto a certain time ago, we rarely heard about East Asian pop culture, particularly Korean pop or pop in India. Have you ever wondered how they become so popular in such a short period of time, even in India, where most people listen to Bollywood songs while many people hate them?

Kpop started in the 1990s introducing a new genre of music, and they never looked back since then. However, they gained immense popularity and recognition after the formation of a boy band known as BTS. Things were always not that good. They got barely to eat, practicing more than 16 hours a day, collapsing backstage, still getting hatred from netizens, and not getting enough recognition as their company was not among the top entertainment industry companies. They almost all had to struggle in a different way to reach this position they are in today.

Things changed back in 2017 when they finally started getting properly-getting what they deserve. By making their companies from zero to Giant money-making bodies, the seven boys won the hearts of billions of fans throughout the world. They truly made a family called BTS ARMY or their fans by selling albums in millions and getting world tours and concerts. However, the popularity of BTS rose in India too just after that making them a huge success here too.

The main reason for pop addiction, in my opinion, is their catchy music. Their music is original and has a positive message in every song. Literally, on the other side, where the pop industry nowadays is giving more attention to showing off their private assets and awful and meaningless lyrics, their music can be heard by any section of people without having any negative impact on them. Nowadays, the music industry is promoting many vulgar things which are often harmful to children in the future if they start watching them at an early age.

However, every shining object has its dark side. The beauty standard of the pop industry is so strict that SEOUL, the capital of South Korea, has one of the highest suicide rates. They have to maintain their physique and hide their personal life from the citizens. The main victims of them are primarily female artists. The artists often suffer from malnutrition to maintain their physique. Sometimes, they can't even meet their families.

Everything has both a good and a bad side. All countries have different cultures, different thinking styles, ways of living, fashion sense, etc. And some people can't accept them or hate them. I think it's high time we should try to see the world through different point of views and so that we will be able to enjoy them as Music is a universal language. It connects people from one place to another.
