Why knowing Geography is important

Geography means the study of earth. The earth in which we live and are surrounded by. Surely, we are nothing without the earth and that's the fact which brings us closer to the reason why and how we use geography in our daily life's - knowingly Or unknowingly. Finding our ways through by getting directions, what's going around the world, the surrounding weather, talking with people through internet is all what brings out the combination of technology and geography together. A pilot needs help of geographer before he starts, as he needs to understand the terrain to know the minimum safe altitude with the help of contour lines, and also with the help of GPS the pilot will never get lost and always be on track. A tour guide will have to use maps or Google Maps to reach and explore a new place. A meteorologist will give predictions about the weather to the people of the nation with the help of satellites and changing patterns in the atmosphere. Daily there is column in newspaper which gives us the knowledge about today's minimum and maximum temperature. Like this, there are several other aspects through which we connect ourselves to geography just by being here and even there. The sun rises with a reason so does the moon, the clouds soaks and shower over again, droughts takes place and the floods take away. Everything has a reason, but today we are becoming a reason in affecting the beautiful planet we are living in. Even though in so many thing's geography is seen and experienced as a subject but somewhere or the other, we fail to recognize it and value. Still lot of people are unaware of the basic facts of earth, which one should know what earth as a whole is providing us to live and lead a life. From eating to sleeping, it created an environment that fulfills all our needs as a human being and for every living and non-living organism around us that needs to sustain. Bringing climate change into action, we humans are failing and making it worse for the planet, the organisms and mainly us. It has been a devastating result of our works and greed to want more than what is necessary and sufficient. It is a beautiful word. To value what we are gifted with, is the need of the hour and also teaching this to people around us and upcoming generations, what we should focus on, so that at least in recovering the future, everyone can correct their mistakes and give a better world to the forthcoming generation, who deserve to see how beautiful the earth is, neither spent their whole life in correcting and working for something they never did wrong about. The earth deserves better, as it has given us the best. Let's not keep that as a choice but, the only option. Save water, save soil, save energy, always believe in recycling and contribute to everything you know that it can count to a better future and world.
