After Seltos and Carnival, Kia has come up with its all-new B-segment SUV which is the Kia Sonet. This car is expected to be launched in the Indian market by September 2020. The Sonet is available with two petrol and one diesel engine options. The 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine, as well as the 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, are available only with the manual transmission and the 1.5-liter diesel engine comes up with both manuals as well as automatic transmission.

Engine Specifications
Sonet's 1.2-litre petrol engine will produce 83 PS of power and 115 NM of torque. On the other hand, its 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine would produce 120 PS of power and 172 NM of torque. Comparing it with its rivals, the 1.5-L petrol engine Ford EcoSport produces the highest power in the entire segment while the 1.2-L Mahindra XUV300 produces the best torque in this segment.
Coming to the Diesel engine, it comes with a 1.5-L manual/automatic engine. In the manual transmission, this engine will produce 100 PS of power and 240 NM of peak torque which is absolutely similar to the Hyundai Venue. And in the automatic transmission, this engine would produce 115 PS of power and 250 NM of peak torque. The Mahindra XUV 300 is the segment leader when it comes to the maximum power and maximum torque in the Diesel variant. However, Kia Sonet is the only car in this segment in which the diesel engine would come with Torque Converter type automatic transmission.
Dimensions:
Being a sub-4 metre compact SUV, it has a dimension of 3995mm x1790mm x1647mm. In terms of boot space, it is a segment leader with 392 litres of boot storage capacity. It also offers the highest ground clearance of 211mm in the segment and it comes with a 45-L fuel tank capacity. It gets 195/65 R15 tyres in the entry-level variants and 215/60 R16 tyres in the top variants.

If you are looking for a value-for-money variant, then HTK+ would be the best pick for you. It has all the basic features which are required for a satisfactory ownership experience. If you are more concerned about safety, then the GTX+ variant is the best option out there as it is the only variant which comes with 6 airbags.
