This web series is an eight episode crime drama. The series comes with the distinction of being the first original Tamil web series for the streaming giant. The story of this series revolves around an investigation into a simple missing person case that unravels and rips the intricate social fabric of a small town. Almost every character is flawed, which makes them relatable and repulsive at the same time. Just when you feel that you are gripping the plot threads which have been seemingly let dangling precariously by the director, there comes that surprise twist which blindfolds your understanding of the situation. The series develops the story for each character well. On top of that, it is filled with twists and turns that makes u keep wondering 'who did it?'. It is the screenplay, the weaving of different stories together, the perfect utilization of all the screenplay and storytelling/writing tropes like, Chekhov's Gun, Red herrings, damp squibs to create a gripping narrative around a not so unpredictable story, making it not complicated, but riveting with simply and astonishingly surprising twists at the right intervals, making it qualify as binge-watch worthy narrative, is the greatness of these acclaimed writers, and transforming that conception in to a perfect form on to the screen, reflects the greatness of the directors. What I loved the most about the story is the unique and heartening way in which the various red herrings were planted, exactly as expected by the viewer, but yet the surprising way in which they are resolved, not disappointing the viewer by insulting their intelligence, but by tying up those ends perfectly, lending apt climaxes to those deceptive stories every time. The show will make you feel every emotion love, anger, sad, disgust etc. in its every frame is epic in its own right. The ending is really satisfactory and leaves a satisfied feeling. Most of the episodes have good cliffhanger that makes you watch the next one. Till the end, you won't know the real deal. One after other story keeps on adding
When it comes to performances, Rajesh is as usual impressive in her character, a prodigal daughter with troubles of her own to deal with, and so is Police Inspector character, is likeable despite his obvious flaws. At least he has the conscience to admit that he is wrong when he is. The same can’t be said about Reddy’s Regina. Perhaps it was the Hindi dubbing, but Regina comes across as unnecessarily volatile in the first few episodes, which lessens the impact in parts where her behavior seems justifiable. Tragedy, vengeance or just a regular day at work, Regina is always furious.
Overall, it questions our perception of people and situations, but fails to go to the depths that the Malayalam film does. If only more care was taken in crafting the last episode of the series, the experience would have been very different.
Ultimately it is a must-watch short series, with an extremely important social message, presented in a near perfect manner.
