Why Is India Leading In Crypto Adoption?
When it comes to cryptocurrency adoption, Asia, particularly India, is surpassing the rest of the world. According to a new industry analysis by the research firm Finder, the top five countries in crypto ownership are all in Asia. Though these countries were formerly seen as irrelevant, a recent study shows that they now play a significant role in the fintech sector.
Vietnam leads the way in terms of adoption, with about 40% of its population holding cryptocurrency, followed by Indonesia, India, Malaysia, and the Philippines, in that order. Almost a third of those polled in Indonesia and India said they had cryptocurrencies in their possession.
There has been a large surge in new users, notably retail traders, since the Supreme Court of India overturned the Reserve Bank of India's restriction on crypto transactions, and along with crypto's massive bull runs in the last year. For example, CoinSwith Kuber, one of the country's main exchanges, has added about 8 million customers in the last year.

These statistics should be enough to convince anyone that crypto is becoming popular in India. With an infrastructure well adapted for inexpensive, dependable internet and a recession that has caused residents and institutions to look for other kinds of money, the world's second-most populous country is perfectly placed to receive cryptocurrency positively.
Exposure to cryptocurrencies motivates individuals to learn about and discuss how the global money system works, particularly crypto's ability to disrupt and innovate a money structure that is obsolete for the digital, globalized age.
HOW DOES THE YOUNGER LEAD ADOPTION?
The participation of younger people is one of the adoption trends noticed in India and around the world. According to survey firm Finders, crypto users between 18 and 34 account for more than 40% of all users worldwide.
One of the causes for this trend is the rise of digital platforms that make buying, selling, and trading cryptocurrencies extremely simple and accessible.
HOW THE Women From small Towns Constitute 65% of Indian Cryptocurrency Sign-Ups

WazirX is a Mumbai-based cryptocurrency exchange. Its most recent statistics show a 2,648 percent increase in crypto sign-ups among smaller city customers in India.
WazirX data also revealed an increase in the total number of enthusiasts and women investors in the country. Women from India's tier III and tier-II cities account for 65 percent of all cryptocurrency sign-ups on WazriX.
The largest cryptocurrency exchange in India, WazirX, is a digital exchange that uses its app and website to provide a trading platform for various cryptocurrencies. It was created by Nischal Shetty in 2018 and had its headquarters in Mumbai.
In tier-II Indian cities like Ahmedabad, Panta, and Lucknow, WazirX saw an average percentage gain of 2,950 percent. The Covid-19 Pandemic-induced lockdown was cited as the primary catalyst. The increase was accompanied by a 2,455 percent increase in tier-II cities like Imphal, Ranchi, and Mohali.
A fiat payment gateway service based in Razorpay and Bengaluru commented on the smaller cities. It claimed to be responsible for 54 percent of its network's traffic and a 92 percent increase in cryptocurrency transactions.
In a survey of female investors, WazirX found that most of them have high hopes and beliefs in crypto trading. They regard it as a means of achieving financial independence. Crypto’s Future In India
WHAT IS Crypto’s Future In India?
According to a recent poll conducted by a global consulting firm, India can become one of the top leaders in crypto in the coming years, particularly in the application of its underlying blockchain technology, once the government and businesses begin to engage with it more actively.
At the time of writing, it is estimated that 15 million Indians had used or invested in cryptocurrencies. The industry has grown nearly fivefold, rising from $923 million in April 2020 to $6.6 billion in May 2021.
The government has been debating its position on cryptos for some time. The Finance Ministry admitted earlier this month that the world is changing.
