The past is the key to the future. We combine the words "past" and "history" on purpose, because they are indeed sometimes interchangeable. If you want to know how to educate yourself and feel that you have fulfilled your duty to your ancestors, read this brief information.
When the work day is over, and you have free time to sit in the living room in front of the TV with a cup of hot chocolate, we think about the events that happen during the day and the things that we did not have time to do. We may regret or show true happiness and contentment, but all we do is the past, its history. No one will deny that history is one of the most important of the other disciplines. To know other subjects, we should learn history and use it for our profit and prosperity. History gives us "today", by which we mean all the things we use to make our lives easier and more enjoyable. History is not just a college book, an article or a newspaper published three hundred years ago, it is every single thing we have experienced, our own history, connected to others. The beginning of history comes not only from the first record of human existence, but from the first trace, the trace of the first creature with abstract thinking.
We ask ourselves questions daily. Where do we come from, What are we destined for? What am I and the surroundings? These questions may sound very philosophical and practically useless, but still, sometimes we lie in bed without sleep and wonder what the next day holds for you. If we take a closer look at the events we think of as history, we can easily find these answers. There is a hypothesis about things running in a circle. Old things come back to change something new. Here we can even use the saying "Something new is quite forgotten old". I think it's also a reason to learn history and predict, or at least try, the future and your role in it. When do people usually start learning history? Of course, not from the first history book. The learning process begins when you hear the world-famous "once upon a time" from your grandmother or father. This is the history of your family, which you must know perfectly and understand how important it is to know.
You learn history at school and university, whether you like it or not. Some of us are enthusiastic and read piles and piles of history books and usually do best at writing history essays. Some see it as nonsense that is only used to pass our time. But what is the way in which your views and ideologies were formed? Out of history according to common sense. It is our greatest treasure, and we must cherish it. We take lessons from famous scientists and engineers who lived hundreds of years before our grandparents were born. Their lives are like a historical essay, a short revision of a nice old story. We use their experience and their inventions daily, even hourly. It is very important for us to show respect to those who left us priceless works that we enjoy every day, watch plays and read books. We don't want to be ungrateful because we also have to leave a mark in history. What kind of footprint will depend on our attitude to what we are doing and our knowledge of history, the heritage we have to pass on to our descendants.
