However, asking that ‘Why is educating a girl is important?’ is a completely biased opinion because it makes us think that only men are allowed the right to education just because they are men.

The meaning of education is vast, but we can sum it up in a line saying- ‘education is development and growth of oneself.’ Education is an essential part of a human being, whether it is a boy or a girl. Education makes us competent in acquiring new skills and communicating with others in a sophisticated manner.

Education is the basic right of everyone, and thus while providing education facilities, we shouldn’t discriminate among genders. Unluckily, this discrimination still prevails in many parts of the world and especially in India. Therefore, it’s necessary to make people understand that women also deserve to be educated, and it’s their basic right.

 Firstly, education is a fundamental right for everyone, whether it is a boy or a girl. India has a large population of women, and we cannot have such a large population as illiterate; it will be a massive loss for our country.

Every girl and woman, whether she is rich, poor, young, old, married, unmarried, widow, or with any social category, has the basic right to education. Education isn’t a privilege but a fundamental right, and it is essential.

• Will bring equality

Inequality and discrimination always start from the root stage. When a boy goes to school, and his sister stays home just because she’s a girl, this sows a seed of discrimination in the boy's mind. He feels superior just because he is a boy and with no reasonable logic to prove it.

When women involve themselves in education by going to schools and colleges with boys, they realize the basic rights of education and don’t build a superiority complex. Therefore, educating women along with men promotes the idea of equality and democracy.

• Makes them independent and develops their confidence

 Education indeed makes a person independent. Education provides us the ability to make ourselves capable of providing services to others and helps them earn their livelihood. If women become educated and earn for themselves, they don’t need to depend on their family for everything.

They realize their value and their uniqueness. This develops their confidence and makes them take their decision on their own. Therefore, education for women is really essential in making women independent and confident.

• This leads to the development of the nation.

Women make just about 50 percent of the total population. If they are left uneducated, then a large part of the country will not contribute to its growth which is a big problem. Therefore, educating women will promote the development of the country.

 Girls’ education can bring around a massive change in society, as a lack of it can weaken the influential part of the society. So, women’s education in India is the need of the hour.
