AMITABH BACHCHAN is an Indian actor, film producer, television host, and former politician. He was born on 11 October 1942 in Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh to Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan.
At first, Bachchan was rejected for his voice and height, but before he gained all the fame, he had to go through many insults. Here is his life story and how he became the greatest actor of the century in Bollywood.
Women love him, Men copy him, and even the president of India himself gave him a notable award. But Amitabh's journey to stardom first started "with a REJECTION."When he applied to a radio station, he was told that his voice wasn't good enough; that was when he was rejected for the first time for something he couldn't control "HIS VOICE."
He couldn't do radio, so he tried acting. In his first three years as an actor, he was called a failed newcomer with "Twelve flops" and only "2 hits".
It was difficult for him to land a bigger role because his height wasn't right to become a leading man in a movie, but he always made sure to take three steps forward with one step backward.
In one of his speeches, he said, "Whatever is good to know is difficult to learn."
After years of dealing with insults and denials, Amitabh was discovered by a screenwriter who struggled to find an actor for the lead angry young man role. It was turned down by many actors, but Amitabh was the perfect person for it.
The insults finally stopped. The reasons why he was constantly rejected in the past, i.e., his voice and height, in the end, set him up for a huge success. He nailed the angry young man persona. He said, "Things happen according to how you wish, that's good, but if they don't, that's even better." The film was one of the highest-grossing films of that year. He earned his first award nomination for Best Actor, and it broke the spell of him being a failed newcomer. Box office hits, Highest-grossing films, Award-winning roles. These went on for years, and soon enough, he became one of the most successful leading men in the film industry.
He is not only known because of his award-winning films. He's known for being a person who proves that it's okay to make big mistakes. You see, when Amitabh was at the peak of his career, He was diagnosed with "MYASTHENIA GRAVIS," a disease that makes you mentally and physically ill. So, he was left with no choice but to quit films. So, he ventured into politics, but he failed. Next, he builds a production company, but he failed again. When he finally got better, he tried acting again but failed in his first comeback projects. He had to work his way up to the top again with small projects and commercials. It was a long process of failing and trying over and over again until he made his
HOLLYWOOD debut in THE GREAT GATSBY. Even at the age of 79, the impact of his story will continue to resonate with many people who didn't believe in themselves. May he be the voice of every person who has been denied because of their looks or voice. May he be the voice of every person who was named a failure but kept on trying.
