Why India sends special plane to Ukraine

India has sent a special Air India flight to repatriate Indian nationals from Ukraine. There are currently more than 20,000 Indian students and citizens in various parts of Ukraine.

Western nations have been urging their citizens to leave Ukraine since Russia began gathering troops on the Ukrainian border.

The United States and Australia have evacuated all staff from their embassies.

India is deeply concerned about rising tensions between Russia and Ukraine. The country has urged all parties to be patient and resolve the crisis diplomatically.

Putin recently declared the two breakaway regions of eastern Ukraine independent republics and ordered the deployment of troops there. The upper house of the Russian parliament, the Federal Council; Putin agreed to the order. Through this, President Putin was allowed to use the armed forces outside the country.

Russia's state news agency Taser reports that a resolution was called for the deployment of troops outside the country. It is passed unanimously. 153 senators agreed.

In response, the United States has cut off international funding to Russia and imposed sanctions on two of its largest banks. On Tuesday, US President Joe Biden imposed the sanctions.

Moscow says Russian diplomats will be expelled from Ukraine soon. The news agency AFP reported this information.
