There are so many countries that import garbage from the world. They import only recyclable goods. These countries include Vietnam, Bulgaria, Indonesia, and others. These all are developing countries that always need support.
They all have less population than India, and they produce less trash too. Thatswhy in order, to draw their economy forward, they import garbage.
But, why India one of the fast-growing states is importing trash from Europe, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and other countries? India only exports E-waste (electronic waste). And plastic waste.
The most important query which comes to mind is, why India who are producing 42 million metric tonnes of waste and are exporting 43 million metric tonnes of waste. Why importers don't utilize their waste as others do? What are the benefits they are earning? What side effects are coming from imported waste? Where does all these waste go?
REASON BEHIND EXPORTING THE WASTE;
Waste usually goes from developed countries to developing countries. Because developed countries don't have enough time to work on waste, they rather prefer manufacturing the object to recycling.
Direct manufacturing require less working time but more financial support, contrary to recycling, which requires more working time but less financial support. Recycling posses very useful points for underdevelopment countries.
The other reason, behind exporting E-waste, is that it cost cheaper to the user than repairing their stuff. It cost them $20 for recycling, while it only cost them $10 for dumping in India.
INDIA'S MINDSET BEHIND IMPORTING WASTE;
India started importing garbage from around the world in 2001 due to a shortage of garbage, and also to meet their basic requirement for the stability of the economy they intended to temporarily import garbage they didn't ever think that they would continue shortly. But when they started getting huge benefits which are mentioned below. From their onwards, they are still importing garbage and still taking benefits, but also fighting with their side effects.
BENEFITS FOR THE GOVERNMENT;
They are acquiring many phenomenal advantages from it. But we will discuss only of the some most crucial ones.
They are making 10 Million tonnes of steel, and 1.4 million tonnes of iron ore with Automobile scrap, which will save 15% to 17% of energy, this is huge.
One ton of recycling tends to save 17 trees, 2.5 barrels of oils, 4100 kWh of electricity, 4 cubic meters of landfills, and 31,780 liters of water too. Because, if the government manufactured stuff that they recycle, then they would have to use the excess amount which save by the recycling process.
And 1 ton of plastic makes 1 kilometer of road and the government of India has been successful in making 1lakh kilometer of road.
India also converting plastic waste to fabrics, which is gaining huge profit for the government, even BCCI (Board of Cricket Council India) itself have made their player's uniform from scrabs. In the 2015 world cup, Indian players had worn their jersey made from plastic scraps.
But keep remember, these are the benefits has only taken by the government. However, in some ways it will be useful for the people as well.
BENEFITS FOR THE PEOPLE;
We look at the benefits taken by the people then first the most common is that, many local people earn their keep by finding useful things from the landfills and selling it to the market.
The engineer Satesh Kumar has turned deep useless plastic waste to petrol, whose cost is half of the governmental market petrol he uses Deep Polymerization Method. The ambitious thing of it is that his method produces 0% waste, Which is too much eye-opening for the people as well as for the government.
Despite possessing huge benefits, government bans polythene bags, Which we will discuss about it too, Which was a major ingredient for Satesh kumar in the Deep Polymerization Method.
Aditiya banger a resident of Bilwara, Rajathan. Founded a company name 'trash to treasure'. which converts all plastic covers, bags, wrappers to fabrics. There are may be other workers like who would be providing jobs for the nation.
DEMERITS OF IMPORTED TRASH;
Trash has now become the pain in the neck for India, because it is now effecting human life as well as living beings it releases poisonous gas that affects lungs so badly whoever inhales they may catch cancer or any injurious disease else like.if we say that, it has made our environment totally polluted, than it won't be wrong.
The first effects of excess trash is shortage of landmass. Because volume of waste is increasing everytime and for dealing with trash it requires huge landmass for landfilling. And government want land due to increasing population and trash become a major obstacle for them.
India imports e-waste in large number and smuggling of prohibited materials easily can happen in India, because these materials transfers through ships and there are two main biggest seaports Jawaharlal Nehru port and Mumbai port, they handle most of the transport. Smuggling easily happens here because of lack of technology, only two scanning machines is installed here for thousand of containers. No government officials presents here, In order to get rid of these consequences.
These also other problems too but above are the worst one.
CHANCE OF ITS LASTING;
Government of India has already imposed ban on polythene stuffs, about which we had talked earlier in the blog, polythene is a major ingredients for the 'Deep Polarization method'. And in the preparation of fabrics too.
The reason behind banning is that polythene are non-degradeable and it takes 300 years to completely filled in the land. It also possesses harmful effects on living being's health.

India is making rapid progress in almost every field. And now the time has come, they should go further ahead. Eventually, they will.
