Why Handmade? 3 Reasons Why Handmade is the “Hot Gift”

That's all. I had to have it. If I had to go to 10 different stores, go on 4 AM on “Black Friday” or go online and bid more than what my pocketbook would not allow, the hot toy of the season would be mine. I can just imagine my daughter's face widening. It would be a wonderful time when he would finally break the toy he had been begging for all season. It's been a year now. Now what was that toy? I don't really remember… and I'm sure he can't either. Now go back to that same Christmas. I also made her a pillow with her name on it. I remember choosing carefully the fabrics. I remember feeling “gitty” when I found the right color choice that would work with her bedroom so well. Everything that makes his room his own, I found it! I remember the night I put her to bed and ran to my sewing room very excited to start my project. I hope you like it as much as I did for her. Watching her excitement as she opened that gift was 10 times more shocking than seeing her set aside a “must-have” toy a few hours later. He was attracted to a pillow, and he was happy to ask, “Mommy! Mom! Did you do this to me? ” The "D-I-Y" action is now in place and more and more people are choosing to give handmade gifts to those on their gift list! So why do you offer handmade this holiday season? Yes there are exceptions, but this works best if you have a holiday budget to stick to. I just made my nieces and nephews for chalk. Can you believe I was able to make 9 in 1 yard of fabric? Talk about transactions! One of my friends made all his gift bags for all his girlfriends. I also like to write down my gift list well in advance, and think about how I can make a few of the same gifts for a group of people - like favorite teachers. With a line-by-line fashion, I can buy everything I need at once, pack my equipment, and get into a project near me. Before you know it, I ended up with something that not only was fun for me to do, but it cost very little in terms of buying something in the store. 2. Because It Can Be Personalized When giving a gift to someone, I always remember what is important to him or her. Whether it’s a gift name, remembering their favorite colors, or doing something sensitive, a handmade gift is one way to show that you care. Handmade gifts can be very varied and varied. Countless times I have been very impressed with those who can build the same project, yet make each one unique to the one they give it to. Whether the material is woven, sewn, painted, or glued together, you can make the right gift for the right person. 3.Because It Can Be A Treasure I still have a knitted dress that my grandmother made for me as a child. Seeing this reminds me of his love and devotion to our family. I can only imagine the joy she felt as she did so. Looking back, I do not know if I ever showed my full level of gratitude when that gift was given. Often, it can be. But looking back, my heart is full of gratitude as I realize the hours must have passed for something extraordinary. Do I still buy gifts for my family and friends at the store? Yes I do. But while I acknowledge that making handmade gifts takes more time, for me giving a handmade gift is more satisfying for both the giver and the recipient.
