Why from now on, Israelis can visit the United States without a visa

Israeli citizens can now enter the United States without a visa. The Israeli embassy in Washington announced this yesterday. As a result, Israeli citizens can stay in the United States for up to 90 days for travel and business without a visa.

The United States announced on September 27 that it would allow Israelis to enter the United States without a visa. They said that it will take maximum two months to start this facility. However, it was implemented a couple of weeks after Israel's conflict with Hamas, the armed group of the Palestinian independence movement, began on October 7.

From now on, Israelis must apply to the country's Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) at least 72 hours before traveling to the United States. The ESTA system automatically verifies whether a citizen of a country is eligible to travel to the United States without a visa. Under this facility, citizens of 41 countries can travel to the US without a visa.

However, Israelis over the age of 18 who do not have a biometric passport cannot apply through ESTA. Those who are rejected for ESTA can apply for a general visa. In addition, Israelis who currently hold US visas will be able to travel to the country under that visa until it expires.

The US has been supporting Israel since the beginning of the ongoing conflict with Hamas. The US government is helping the country with weapons. US officials are visiting the country from time to time on the side of Israel against Hamas. US President Joe Biden visited Tel Aviv last Wednesday and promised to stand by Israel.

Russia strongly criticized Washington for Biden's speech

Russia has strongly criticized Washington for US President Joe Biden's statement that aid to Ukraine and Israel is an investment in the future of the United States.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zackharova made the criticism on the messaging app Telegram today.

Biden addressed the nation on Thursday local time. In his speech, he called aid to Ukraine and Israel an investment in America's future.

According to Biden, it's a smart investment. This investment will pay dividends for America's security from generation to generation. He also sought congressional support for renewed aid to Ukraine and Israel.

Maria, the spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, responded today to Biden's comments. He said Biden's investment-related comments prove the United States is not fighting for ideological reasons. They benefit from proxy wars.

Maria said Biden's comments revealed the US administration's betrayal of moral standards.

The Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman said that the US administration talks about fighting for freedom and democracy. But now it is understood that there is only calculation behind it. Washington has always fooled the world by talking about values. But they never held these values.
