What Is It? : Fragrance is not a scent used by people for self-preservation, but is the result of chemicals that are produced from plants, animals and other natural sources. This chemical mix contains different substances such as oleic acid (a fatty acid found in olive oil), linoleic acid, myringyl acetate and stearic acid (found in soybean oils). The name itself suggests that these products form a protective shield that helps to protect the skin from pollution and free radicals. There are many of types of fragrances that we can use in our everyday lives such as essential oils, perfume oils, food scents and even smoke/smog scented products. And also there are fragrances that are used exclusively for their antibacterial properties to prevent bacteria growth, and in some cases this includes chemical compounds used in detergents, disinfectants and antiseptics. There are also lotions or creams that are used on the face to moisturize it to keep its skin looking well nourished and fresh. The ingredients in these cosmetic products may have different fragrances but all of them are very useful in protecting against bad odor, irritation and other physical effects. Some of common fragrances are lavender, lemon, cinnamon, mint, raspberry and bergamot. Fragrance has evolved over thousands years because it aids us in communicating with each other and also promotes peace and harmony between people and animals. Some examples of how human beings used fragrance include; medical procedures and treatments during wars, weddings and funerals. Also if someone died, it was possible that there would be an absence of communication between loved ones. They would have been unable to say goodbye, and thus some of the items they had brought with them were kept for their owner’s eyes to see. We have created these things like cosmetics, soap, soaps and everything else around us, just to make sure that we’re keeping ourselves clean, and living healthy. So why not give back to those who deserve this world the benefit of some good and wonderful aromas? Why not put aside your toxic air, and your hazardous waste? Just add one simple fragrance to your daily routine, your body will thank you (or maybe even better, your face will thank you!). Do you really want to take part in trying to ruin our environment and our surroundings? Or should you try to find ways in which we can help to lessen the amount of pollutants that we throw into the atmosphere? We must understand that we are only human beings, and although we are aware of the harmful effects of certain synthetic chemicals on our health and general wellbeing, it is sometimes difficult to look beyond these small things and focus more on what we can do to protect ourselves. That being said, we should always remember that we are all equal humans, and in order to live peacefully in this world, we all have to treat each other the same way we would want to be treated while experiencing any problems. As much as we might think we aren’t given enough opportunity to enjoy some amazing services and amenities, the truth is that we have had several choices in life which have led us to where we are today, and they are all equally important. In order to find out more about how you can enjoy some great smelling delicacies and feel less stressed out, it is time to start thinking hard about the fragrances that you like and would like to add to your beauty/wellness line up. Remember, there are many of us who are looking forward to hearing about your experiences in making this journey. How long would you like to go before you hear of your next adventure? Let me know at anytime. I really appreciate it! :)
