Egyptian comedian and TV personality Bassem Youssef has strongly criticized Israel's secret plan to send residents of the besieged Gaza Strip to Egypt's Sinai.
At the same time, the United States and its Western allies have been criticized. He advised them to give refuge to the Israelis in their country after the end of the Middle East conflict. This information was informed in a report of TRT World on Friday (November 3).
The West uprooted the Palestinians from their homeland and resettled the Israelis there. The state of Israel was established in 1948 in the occupied land. Illegal occupations then escalated and continue to this day.
Today, Palestine refers to two parts of the land. One of which is the besieged Gaza Strip and the other is the occupied West Bank. But Israel is trying to occupy these two territories. The country's army continues to indiscriminately bombard Gaza, which was attacked by Hamas earlier last month.
As a result, thousands of Palestinians, including women and children, have been killed. Not only the massacre, the Israeli government is also plotting to uproot 2.3 million residents of the Gaza Strip.
Recently, the information of a document of the Israeli intelligence agency was leaked. It said that after the fall of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, Israel is planning to send the residents to Egypt's Sinai.
Bassem Yusuf criticized the Western world including the United States behind this secret plan of Israel and said, why should the people of Gaza be expelled. Europe has 44 countries, the US has 50 states, why are they not talking about moving Israel to Europe or the US to end the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
In an interview with British presenter Piers Morgan, Bassem Youssef said that Gaza has about 2.3 million inhabitants. Israel's plan to forcibly relocate them to Sinai is 'the worst possible solution'.
"They are Palestinians and this is their land," Yusuf said. You suddenly take it over. He said, Gazans are being forcibly evicted from their homes. Now other countries have to accept them.
Egyptian heart surgeon-turned-comedian Youssef said the Israeli proposal would force Gazans to live in refugee camps.
He said these people are being pressured to go to Sinai and two million people will live in refugee camps. What do you expect in this situation but chaos and disorder?
Bassem Yusuf said, "After a few years, the media supporting the Western government will come with cameras and say, 'Look, these Arabs are killing each other.' Israel is freed from them. That was good.' Yusuf questioned why the same system was not being considered for the Israelis.
He said, there are 44 countries in Europe. Why are they not sheltering the Israelis? The United States has 50 states. Why aren't they giving the Israelis a place in Florida?
Yusuf also criticized the West's silence on Israel's attack on the besieged Gaza. "There was a vibrant Palestinian culture and they are destroying it," he said. An entire culture has been destroyed.
Earlier, 76 Hollywood stars gave an open letter to US President Joe Biden calling for a cease-fire in Gaza. Bassem Yusuf was also among the signatories of that letter.
Note that Bassem Youssef is a popular comedian and television presenter in Egypt. In 2013, when the Muslim Brotherhood was in power, Bassem was accused of mocking the then president.
A few days later, an arrest warrant was issued against him for insulting the president and Islam. He was later bailed by 15,000 Egyptian pounds. Bassem was later forced to leave Egypt. Now he lives in USA.
Bassem Yusuf is now one of the strongest voices for Muslims against anti-Muslim propaganda on the Palestinian issue.
