Whether it's the movement of the stars and galaxies in spacelessness, the fascinating landscapes of trees, mountains, and rivers, the mesmerising sounds of birds, or the discipline in the lives of a variety of animals, everything in the universe has been created by its creator in such perfect order and balance that there is no gap in it. At the same time, this merciful Lord also said, "Do not disturb the balance."
But what about the lustful nature of man that he made the arrangement of this beautiful and balanced planet somewhat random in order to make possible the attainment of new luxuries in such a way that numerous social, economic, and environmental issues exist? But it began to appear.
Global warming is one of those serious environmental issues. Global warming is the name given to the constant increase in the average global temperature. The main reason for this is the greenhouse effect. There are clear possibilities.
The problem is the ever-increasing effect of greenhouse gas emissions through various human activities. One of the relatively small causes of global warming is the depletion of the ozone layer, caused by these same greenhouse gases.
The ozone layer is actually a protective shell that is present in the standing layer of the atmosphere. It turns out that the root of the problem is greenhouse gas emissions from large-scale burning of conventional fuels.
Carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, chlorofluorocarbons, methane, freons, and halons are called greenhouse gases. Global warming is not just the name of global warming; experts warn that the effects are so severe that one of the world's largest populations is in danger of extinction.
Due to the melting of glaciers, the sea level has increased by several centimetres during the last century, and it is expected to increase by one metre by the end of this century. Global warming is increasing natural disasters.
Storms and floods are constantly coming to different parts of the world. Not only that, but in the near future, due to global warming, some parts of the world will be affected by famine and some parts will become flood-prone areas.
Famine will lead to starvation and large-scale deaths, as well as landslides in rain-fed areas that will be infested with insects that will spread diseases and cause deaths. Global warming is also hurting the human economy.
According to experts, by 2050, millions of people will have to migrate due to climate change and global warming as rising sea levels will inundate hundreds of islands and coastal areas. Global warming is devastating not only for humans but also for other biodiversity as global warming is causing major changes in the entire ecosystem and making it difficult for the organisms in this system to find food.
As Muslims, we believe that Islam is the only way of life that shows us the straight and true way to live from lap to grave. In light of the facts presented above, it is evident that high greenhouse gas emissions are the root cause of the problem.
What is the cause of these greenhouse gas emissions? Combustion of fossil fuels and why is this happening? Because coal and oil are the mainstays of the global economy, the lust for more has made the human mind so materialistic today that it has forgotten to distinguish between right and wrong, and the same selfish mindset has created dangerous monsters like climate change and global warming. Islam teaches us that moderation is the only way to prosperity. Islam calls for a middle ground in all walks of life.
Moderation and moderation are the attributes of Islam that are reflected in every issue and rule, from which we can understand how much responsible behaviour and caution are required in the use of the energy that can be exhausted.
The Holy Qur'an is a source of guidance for all human beings up to the end of the world. The natural environment is a precious gift from God to us. All these resources have been subjugated for us. We are free to use them and not to exploit them. The Holy Qur'an has repeatedly said, "Do not exceed the limits," which is a clear indication that we must maintain a limit in our use of resources.
If the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said that deforestation, which is a major cause of the increase in greenhouse gases, has a meaningful meaning: If it can be applied, it should be applied. This interpretation shows the importance of trees and how planting trees can become a charity for human beings.
Islam teaches us responsible use of resources, so it is in the hadith that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) warned against wasting water while performing Wudhu, which shows how carefully we should use our resources.
On the Day of Judgment, we are responsible for all our deeds before the great being who has given us all these blessings. When this feeling is created in a human being, he automatically becomes responsible. The Short Story Islamic teachings teach us that in order to overcome global warming, it is important that we use resources responsibly, carefully, and use alternative sources of depleted resources.
All of our economic activities, be it industry, agriculture, transportation, or mining, should be controlled in such a way that greenhouse gas emissions are kept to a minimum. In other words, we need to slow down our growth. The welfare of all humanity is at stake.
