Why do most of the start-ups fail?

If you are an aspiring entrepreneur or business and planning to start your own Venture, then you must article because here I've collected some information that may save you from the failure of your business.

There are some common mistakes that people generally make in the craze of starting or building their own business, but building a business is not that easy.

It's like making something that doesn't exist; it's like the creation of an entire system.

According to one research, it is found that 95% of start-ups fail in their first 5year.

And out of this 95%, some start-ups are knocked out of the business within the first year,

some of these can take it up to 3-4 years,

and even some reach up to 5 years. Still, with low returns, which is not suitable for the business, therefore, maximum businesses like this are thrown out of the race in today’s competitive world.

Now let’s see what are the general mistakes that cause the failure of 95% of businesses, and if you want to start your own business, I would recommend you have a look at the mistakes of business failure mentioned below,

Finding the Co-founders

As a founder, the 2nd most important thing after selecting your business idea is to find the right co-founders,

And it would be best if you kept it in mind that co-founders must match the way you think about your startup,

they must have the excitement and motivation that you have for your status plan.

Co-founders must have the required knowledge in specific areas according to business so that you don’t suffer from muds due to lack of knowledge on your way to building a business.

Business Model-Failure

Predicting the business model is one of the greatest drawbacks for any business, as it is the structure on which your entire business will run in the future.

Generally, new entrepreneurs, especially first-generation entrepreneurs, are too optimistic about how easy it would be to acquire new customers.

So you don’t have to predict it; you have to make the business model on an actual, factual, and statistical basis.

Poor-Management Team

A widespread problem that leads start-ups to fail is a weak or poor management team.

They are often weak at,

  • Selecting the right product that satisfies market needs: - If they plan to decide on product A to work upon and launch it into the market, then they become so optimistic about that product that they predetermine market supply & demand for product A, and their success and this predetermination leads to their failure.
  • And the worst thing is that they are terrible at the plan execution part of the business which is the most important one,

Because even a great business idea can fail without proper execution, so there is no way to survive with poor execution skills.

Execution is the front end of any plan that takes any plan into the real ground.

No Liquidity (Running Out of Cash)

Obviously, the company’s valuation doesn’t change linearly; you have to work on your milestones for increasing the valuation.

For example, a business raised funding in round A of $10 million,

It doesn’t mean that after a year in round B, you will get more than round A.

The investor will look at your financials and especially on your cash flow if it’s positive or negative, and on that basis, the revaluation of your business will calculate.

And based on revaluation, the investors will decide whether to invest in your business or not, how much to invest, it can be less than $10 million, or it can more than that.

So for this, you have maintained a milestone performance to grow and scale up the venture.

But if you put all your money in once into business activities and your cash flow becomes negative, then it simply loses the interest of the investors,

And the most important is you won’t be able to face & handle any uncertainties like this covid-19, where your liquidity is the only key to keep your business survived.

Therefore, "No Liquidity" leads to the failure of businesses in uncertainties.
