Often, the question comes to people's minds: why are there so many types of lights in airplanes. The airplane gets all the signals from the control room. Still, different lights are needed to indicate different functions. Some of these lights are necessary while the plane is taking off and some lights during its landing.
Know what the different types of lights on an airplane mean and how they work.
1. Taxi Light: These are the lights used in the airplane's taxi mode, i.e. while running on the ground. These 150-volt lights help the airplane to see the runway. As soon as the flight gets taxi clearance, the pilot turns on the ISKY taxi light. This brightens the lights on the runway and helps the pilot.
2. Take-off Light: Along with the taxi light, there are take-off lights. These taxis are brighter than the lights and are lit only when taking off the airplane. These lights emit light farther than taxi lights. These lights light up only when the airplane is completely ready for take-off. The most sensitive part of an airplane is its wings.

3. Runway turn-off light: Apart from take-off and taxi lights, there are also various lights whose angle is even wider. These lights help the pilot piloting the airplane on the runway to see the full path correctly.
4. Wing Scan Light: A susceptible part of an airplane is its wings. Since they are separate from the main body, their protection is critical. For this purpose, wing lights are installed, so that at the time of take-off, even in the dark, the complete shape of the airplane can be clearly understood. Also, these lights help the pilot a lot. With the help of these lights, pilots flying through the clouds can see if there is snow on the wings.
The plane also gets bright orange lights which turn on with the first engine start and turn off as soon as the engine is turned off.
5. Anti Collision Beacon: These lights are helpful for the crew doing the cleaning or maintenance on the airplane's ground. These are bright orange-colored lights lit with the first engine start of the airplane and turn off with the last engine shutdown. The reason is that the ground crew can know that now the airplane has completely stopped.
6. Landing Light: These are bright white-colored lights that help to see the sky and runway clearly while landing in the airplane. These lights are also used to illuminate such runways where the lighting is less. These lights are sometimes placed under the wings, sometimes on the outer surface of the wing, and sometimes elsewhere. Many airplanes have landing lights in more than one place. 
The indication of these different lights of the plane is understood anywhere in the world.
7. Navigation Light (3): These lights are present to determine the direction of the flying airplane. There are 3 lights for navigation. The light on the pilot side glows in the green light, on the other side in red, and the light on the airplane's tail gives white light. Depending on the position of the light, it becomes easy for the pilot of another airplane to understand in which direction the airplane seen in front is flying.
8. High-Intensity Strobe Light: These bright lights help to make the airplane more visually. It is located under the red and green navigation lights. These lights are very bright and work to attract the attention of the people around during the flight.
9. Logo Light: Every company has a logo that is visible on their airplane. Logo lights are used to highlight the same logo. It has two advantages. The first is that it is understood that whose company's airplane is flying by looking at it. At the same time, the company is also promoted like big posters.
