How much salary should a homemaker get at home?

Economists believe that even though the housewife does not get any remuneration for the work, her work is also included in the economic activities, and this should also be added to the national income. By not doing so, we are reducing the share of women in economic development.
Five years ago, the then Women and Child Welfare Minister Krishna Tirath had said that there should be a monetary assessment of the household chores done by women and that they should get equal value from their husbands.
However, this statement made in 2012 was forgotten. But the answer given by Manushi Chillar in the Miss World pageant has once again brought it alive. He said in his reply that all the mothers in the world deserve the highest salary.
However, he did not give any figures for this. According to ET, a housewife from a middle-class family is entitled to a minimum salary of Rs 45,000. This includes a contribution to the work given by them in the house.

Apart from this, the responsibility of commuting children to school tuition, teaching them, and buying household items is also on their head.
While the idea of salary sounds great for homemakers, it doesn't give them much freedom. As per the existing rules, every gift given to your spouse is tax-free. However, if this money is invested, the income from it is added under section 60.
Tax experts say that there is a need to make this rule a little flexible to be more attractive to both the taker and the payer. CA Minal Aggarwal says, "If this rule is not changed, the housewife's salary will remain a concept."
The situation is even worse for working women. After getting tired in the office all day, they have to struggle again at home. It does not matter whether you are the lowest employee of an office or the head of an MNC.
