Why Crimean fuel depot burns in drone attack

Since the drone attack, the fuel depot in Sevastopol has been on fire.                                Russia's fleet in the Black Sea is based in Sevastopol. There have been several drone strikes in Ukraine since the start of the Russian military's "special military operation" in February last year. It is believed that Ukraine is carrying out these attacks.

Mikhail Razvozaev, the Moscow-appointed governor of Crimea, said in a telegram this morning. According to preliminary information, there has been a drone attack.                                                           Governor Mikhail said that the fire is burning in an area of about 1000 square meters. He also released pictures of huge plumes of smoke billowing from the fuel depot. However, he said that no one was injured and urged everyone to remain calm.

Mikhail Razvozaev said that the situation is now under control. There is no risk to civilian infrastructure.                                                         Earlier last week, Russia said an attempted drone attack on the port city of Sevastopol had been repelled.

Russia has been in control of Ukraine's Crimean Peninsula since it was seized by a military operation in 2014.                                    The shelling of Nova ya Kakhovka was preceded by a drone attack on an energy depot in Sevastopol, the main port city of the Russian-occupied Crimea peninsula, on Saturday morning. This attack caused a terrible fire. It is said that these attacks are part of the preparations that Ukraine was preparing to counterattack against the Russian forces.

The city of Nova ya Kakhovka is located in the southern Kherson region of Ukraine. Kherson is one of four regions in Ukraine that Russian forces have claimed control of since launching an offensive against the country last year. The location of the city is on the upper reaches of the Dnipro River in Kherson. Kherson is the capital city of Kherson. Russian forces retreated from the city of Kherson in November last year.                          Officials stationed there by Russia after taking control of Nova ya Kakhovka said in a telegram that Ukrainian armed forces were shelling Nova ya Kakhovka and its surrounding areas.

Nova ya Kakhovka is now without power due to shelling. Authorities have urged residents of the city and its surrounding areas to remain calm. At the same time, he said, once the shelling stops, the work of activating the electricity connection will begin                           On February 24 of last year, Russian forces started a "special military operation" in Ukraine. On the same day, Russian troops took control of Nova ya Kakhovka. Its control is important for Russia for strategic reason's including water-power plants.
