WHAT IS RESERVATION
Reservation in India is a set of affirmative actions taken by the Indian government to give some extra benefits to persons based on their caste. This step was taken to provide opportunities to lower caste so they can also get opportunities to uplift their social status. Reservation is given to persons belonging to ST, SC, and OBC community. In these three SC communities, people are regarded as untouchables and discriminated till now, whereas ST community is physically isolated, and most of that population used to live isolated and are socially backward and nomads. OBCs are also backward classes, but they are not discriminated on the basis of caste.
WHY IT IS NECESSARY
For EXPLAINING this reason, I tell you my real-life incidents.
I am an 18-year-old boy and live in Delhi. When I was in the 4th standard, my school teacher asked my caste, and at that time I didn't know what caste means, so she told me to ask my father about my caste. (btw I belong to sc). when i was in 11 and I used to study in a convent school my friend asked my caste and i told him my caste then from that day he used to bully me in front of other person because of my caste. SOME people say that caste discrimination is fully abolished all over in India. But it is not true as in my village my community peoples are not allowed to go to high caste people's area and also when there is any fight between two groups they will use abusive caste words which not not acceptable. There is the various incidence in which Dalits are often beaten for entering temples. Most of the discrimination cases are against sc. MOST Of the sewage workers are Dalits, but priests of all the temples belong to the upper caste. My grandfather told me that he used to be a daily wage worker, and once he thought of quitting his work and open his own ration shop, but upper caste peoples didn't allow. he also told me that used to have 8 acres of land which was illegally snatched by upper caste people.
MY PERSPECTIVE
THERE IS CASTE DISCRIMINATION IN INDIA TILL NOW SO FIRST WE HAVE TO END THE DISCRIMINATION IN ORDER TO END RESERVATION. I KNOW RESERVATION IN LONG TERM IS NOT BENEFICIAL FOR FUTURE OF OUR COUNTRY. BUT FOR THIS TO END ALL PEOPLE MUST HAVE TO COME FORWARD REGARDLESS OF THEIR CASTE TO STOP THIS PRACTICE. I ALSO THINK THAT THERE SHOULD BE A SURVEY IN A SPECIFIC PERIOD TO KNOW THE CURRENT STATUS OF RESERVATION ON DIFFERENT COMMUNITIES AND CASTE AND IT SHOULD BE REVISED SLOWLY AND IT WILL TAKE SOME TIME.
NOW SOME PEOPLE WILL ARGUE WITH MY VIEW , I ONLY WANT THEM TO ANSER MY QUESTION CAN A LOWER AND HIGHER CASTE MARRIAGE IS ACCEPTABLE IN YOUR VILLAGE OR IN SOCIETY . IWANT YOU TO THINK ABOUT IT. ALSO,EVERY DALIT IS NOT DISCRIMINATED BUT WHO ARE DISCRIMAINATED ON BASIS OF CASTE ARE DALITS.
