BTS made their debut in 2013 with their single album 2 Cool 4 Skoal after forming in 2010 under the Big Hit Entertainment company. They are located in Seoul, South Korea, and go by the moniker Bangtan Sonyeodan, which means "Bulletproof Boy Scouts" in English. The members of BTS are Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook.
In their early years, the main subjects of their songs were dating, love, and school. However, the band has broadened its musical subjects to include material on overcoming self-doubt, dealing with bullying, and mental health. The "School" trilogy, "The Most Beautiful Moment," and their "Love Yourself" series are all included in their discography.
Why is BTS so well-liked?
There is much more to become a successful K-pop group than just delivering big songs and choreographed dance routines. About 30 new K-pop groups make their debut each year in the hopes of becoming the next great thing, but if they fail to make an impact by their second or third year, they frequently break up mid-contract. Making an influence beyond cultures is challenging because the majority of K-public pop's audience are young Korean fans. Despite the difficulties, BTS has succeeded in reaching the top and is setting important records in the process. What distinguishes them from all the other K-pop groups out there?
BTS's use of social media
BTS has had the good fortune to make their debut during a time when social media outreach can have a huge influence on a business. When compared to other K-pop acts, BTS's smaller label afforded them far more leeway in terms of what they could post and how they interacted with their fans online. They now have access to a larger worldwide audience that may share a similar experience as Korean fans because to the power of social media.
Music by BTS
Their songs have a global following despite being largely performed in Korean with some English lines thrown in. They have far more complex musical topics than other K-pop groups. The K-pop genre frequently discusses dating, relationships, and love. BTS undoubtedly began in that manner when they made their debut, but they are now unafraid to discuss social topics like mental health in their songs. This has made it possible for people to connect with them on a deeper level and perhaps find solace in their words. Despite having vibrant visuals, their music videos are often frequently laden with imagery that gives the songs a far deeper significance.
Prizes and Appreciation
BTS appears to set a new record every day, and it's simple to understand why. They have exceeded Justin Beiber and Ariana Grande's previous records in the short period since their debut. Additionally, they are the first K-pop group to play at the American Music Awards and speak at the United Nations in 2018. Their album also reachedre also named the Top Social Artist at the Billboard Music Awards.
They have two Guinness World Records for having the most online music video views in the first 24 hours and breaking the record for the most Twitter engagements.
It's difficult to dispute the influence BTS has had on K-Pop music, even if you're not a fan. After years of effort, they have succeeded in spreading awareness of Korean music and culture while setting a number of records in the process. Even that ought to be acknowledged.
