Normal hair and the hair of those who come from Africa are curled and strong, thus producing curly hair. Black hair is also much wider than Caucasian hair and retains less water, thus their relative “mildness”. Many of the styles used by Black Hair cause anxiety about hair loss. Black hair is very strong, fortunately because Black hair styles cause a lot of stress on the hair and scalp. For example, using a hair pick to pick hair up to a bushy style is a very harmful process because regular pulling causes stress on the hair shaft and follicle. In fact, blending Black hair in general can cause severe stress on Black hair and cause breakage, which keeps it dry. Conrowing and braiding are the ways to make hair pulling harder, and this can cause great stress on the hair and scalp causing hair loss. Weaving that results in hair pulling too hard can cause severe alopecia, hair loss caused by trauma to the hair and scalp. Severe alopecia is usually reversed with proper hair care. Hot compresses and sprays used to straighten hair can cause severe heat and chemical damage to the hair and scalp, which can also cause severe alopecia, and can eventually lead to permanent hair loss. This is especially true when heat or chemically treated hair is pulled tight with rollers or hot curling irons. Hot oil conditions are very good for Dark hair, as hot oil treatments contain proteins and polymers that are essential for repairing hair cuticles. Hot oil treatment involves burning the oil and applying it to the hair and scalp, and then covering the hair with a plastic cap to allow the oil to penetrate. Follow the recommendations for timely treatment that you should leave the hair treatment for. This procedure can heal breakage and strong shiny hair will be the result. Consider that hair extensions commonly used in Black hair contain lye or similar chemicals that break the hair shaft. When the recommended time is up, these chemicals will eat away at the hair and cause it to fall out. That is why these products are often used in products such as Drano® to clean closed hair follicles. No-lye relaxers are very popular today, mainly because they lead people to believe that the product is not caustic. This is far from the truth. A mixture of calcium hydroxide and guanidine carbonate is combined to form guanidine hydroxide, which can easily clean the sink. Repeated use of such products can cause some degree of hair loss, and if scars occur while using these chemicals, hair loss may remain permanent on the scalp. One has to wonder if it is wise to put such caustic chemicals in the hair regularly because of the look you want. The question must be answered individually, yet the facts must be known. There is little that can be done to alleviate the disease without changing the traditional African American hair style. There is a catch-22 related to relaxing Black Hair, as combining natural Black Hair causes great stress and breakage of hair, while chemicals cause serious damage to the hair and scalp. There are a few hair-relaxing products on the market that use chemicals and are less aggressive than sodium hydroxide (lye) or its equivalent that is popular in “no-lye” formulas: calcium hydroxide (quicklime) mixed with guanidine carbonate. One such product is called Natural-Laxer® and Sahara Clay® by Baka ProductsTM which has been on the market since 1990. This product is also natural because it does not contain many harsh relaxing chemicals for sale and actually contains only a substrate called Daphne Gnidium and African clay is considered relatively safe. Of course this product does not understand hair in many cases in the same way as commercial breaks, but it often makes Black hair manageable. There is still another product on the market that is reported to be a 92-96% natural Naturalaxer Kit In A Jar ™ that does not require the applicant to comb his hair during installation, resulting in very minor damage. Of course the important point is also, if you can not leave your hair in its natural state then you will get less stress and damage to the hair and thus prevent at least one cause of hair loss. There is a growing segment of black people who are becoming more comfortable wearing their hair in natural styles. One such style is dreadlocks. There are a lot of rumors and myths about dreadlocks, as there is little relevant information available about this style, and like anything mysterious many myths around. Dreadlocks can be washed and should be washed; otherwise they will smell as bad as all the other dirty hair. The best method you can use to wash dreadlocks is to use a non-abrasive shampoo. Many commercial shampoos leave a residue and can cause hair to become unlocked, lending oil to rumors that the hair should have become dirty to make dreadlocks. Clean hair actually locks much better than dirty hair, as dirt is a residue in itself that will prevent hair from locking. For best results, one should use a free, fragrant shampoo. Dreadlocks do not respond well to greasy and oily substances, however there are many good things on the market today that will help you make dreadlocks. Dreadlocks are made by process, not just by brushing or brushing the hair. Generally, a person should start with hair that is about an inch [2 cm] long, and the hair should be divided into equal squares of hair and twisted together gently using a binding or gel. Many use natural bex-free petroleum, while others use loc and twist gels designed for locks. If the hair is split and twisted into small locks, it
