The increase in grants to cryptocurrencies indicates that digital resources have "emerged as an important alternative funding method, allowing international donors to bypass financial institutions because funding is hindering access to these groups," Elliptic said.
Elliptic has identified a number of cryptocurrency wallets used by these voluntary groups and NGOs, which together have raised over 60 560,000. Most of it has come in the last one year.
The Ukrainian Cyber Alliance received about 100,000 bitcoin grants last year.
Ukraine's Defense Ministry has also set up a bank account to receive grants for its troops in legal tenders.
