Why ‘Battle Of Ego’ Resparks As Fans Notice Virat Kohli & Rohit Sharma’s ‘Instagram Relationship’

There have been various instances in the past when news reports and rumors have suggested that Sharma and  Virat Kohli do not like each other and have had “rifts” among themselves due to their respective egos. Although, the two cricketers have also expressed their denial of all such reports and have reinforced that they’ve managed to coexist in the team and have contributed to its success as a unit.

One of the biggest highlights of this unique rivalry was the fact that after Virat Kohli’s tenure as the Indian captain ended across all formats of the game which included him volunteering to quit as the T20I and Test captain and being fired as the ODI captain, he was quickly replaced by Sharma as the next leader.

Amid all these exciting ups and downs in the relationship between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, the oddest of the things to talk about have been their social media trends with respect to each other - more importantly, the discussion around “who follows who” on Instagram.

Recently, one of Virat Kohli’s fans on the internet brought it to the world’s attention that while Virat Kohli follows Sharma on the photo and video sharing social media platform, the same is not the case the other way around and this led to the banter between the followers of the two ace athletes on Twitter, the microblogging website.

The ‘follow-unfollow’ debate has been going on for a really long time, and somehow Rohit Sharma often manages to find himself right in the middle of such discussions. Back in 2018 when Sharma had unfollowed the former skipper on Twitter & Instagram, it ballooned up into big news where everyone was concerned about how things were between the two. The following year, the Hitman was once again making headlines after he unfollowed actor and Virat Kohli’s wife Anushka Sharma on the platform as well.

‘I’m Tired Now’: Virat Kohli Rubbishes Reports Of a Rift With Rohit In The Most Humble Manner Possible

Virat Kohli, India’s skipper in the longest format, has categorically denied that there is no ill-will between him and his Test deputy Rohit Sharma and slammed the media reports as mere “lies”. Virat Kohli’s comments have come after the backdrop of several media reports that claimed that he was not pleased with the way the BCC I sacked him from the ODI captaincy and handed it to Rohit, without any discussion.

The basis of these reports was a report that had claimed that after Rohit was ruled out of the South Africa Test series with a hamstring injury, Virat Kohli had requested the BCC I to give him a break from the following ODI series.
