For housewives, balancing the home and business aspects of their lives may seem impossible, especially when the reason they started working from home was that they were able to spend more time with the family. However, many home-based businesses fail miserably because mothers cannot balance business with home life. How can you meet the needs of your family, the needs of your business and occasionally find the time for your needs without being a great hero? The first thing any mother should do to achieve balance is to include the family involved. If your children and your husband are supportive, you will find that they often do not interrupt and that they are more likely to come in to do household chores. You probably think that will happen the day the moon turns blue cheese, doesn't it? However, if you say you need to do a big project and you will be able to buy pizza and rent a video for a fee, you might be surprised at how quickly everyone comes in to help. If you have young children, they may not be able to understand the concept of waiting for a prize. To get your little ones involved, try to explain what you are doing with simple words and have them help you. Set up your children a small desk or table and add crayons and paper to help you with your work by drawing some pictures or writing a book. Older children can put stamps on envelopes and seal them, wrap them in paperclip paper, or do other simple organizational activities. Of course, no matter how much your family and friends support you, they will not be happy if you work 15 hours a day. Make sure you ask for uninterrupted time to do your work or to run your business, but also make sure you plan time with your family and friends. While doing that program, do not forget your significant other. If you stay up all night with your computer after the children have gone to bed at night, you may end up having serious relationship problems! Once your family and friends are involved and you have planned the time in your life, it is time to consider a few ways to make the most of your valuable work time. Although you may be tempted to work without stopping by the time you dedicate yourself to your business, you should try to take a break. Taking a half-hour walk or lunch away from your desk can really help you rejuvenate your mind and prevent your body from growing stronger and more tired. When you sit down, you can do so with a clear view of your goals and new strengths and focus. Also, do not be afraid to make a "to-do" list for your business. Write down four or five things you should do on your list and commit to doing it before visiting your favorite forums or checking your email. This can really help you to accomplish more work in less time. So, although you may not have much energy, you can still have home life, business life and your time. The next time you feel frustrated, take a deep breath, ask your family for help and try some of these great ideas to balance your life.
