Why are there only 28 days in February?
We know that the twelve months of the year are January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November and December. And we also know that except the month of February all these months have 29, 30 or 31 days. It is the only month that has 28 days. But the thing to think about is this:
Why does the month of February have 28 days? And the important question is why the end of February. It is neither the last month of the year nor the first. Then why the month of February has only 28 days...?
Every 4 years, the month of February has 29 days like in 2020. However, why does this happen and since when?
Most people may know the reason for this but those who do not know know that every 4 years there is an extra day in the month of February which is also called Lap Day.
February 29th is a leap year. That is a year in which the month of February is 29 days instead of 28 days. As if this year will be 366 days instead of 365 days.
So today I will tell you why and how the month of February lasts for 28 days.
Hundreds of years ago, there was a Roman king named Loma and it was Loma who created the calendar for the twelve months of the year. Loma had 355 days in a year. This calendar started in March and ended in February. That is, March was the first month of the year, while February was the last month of the year.
In fact, the Earth's orbit around the Sun is not 365 days, but a quarter of a day longer, that is, 365 days, five hours, 49 minutes and 12 seconds.
And since the earth revolves around the sun, the change of seasons also depends on the relationship between the earth and the sun's rotation, so if you keep 365 days each year, there is a quarter of a year difference every year and the calendar seasons Begins to move away from۔
Then he determined the days of all the months to complete 355 days. Now, since the last month was February. And only 28 days were left, so there were only 28 days left in this month. So that 355 days of the year can be completed.
But, then we came to know that our Earth takes 24.365 days to make one revolution around the Sun. Then the calendar of 355 days, was changed but the month of February did not change. Then a day will be added to the calendar after four years to complete the fourth day. As long as the king lived, a day was added to the calendar every four years, but when the king died, this increase was made every three years instead of every four years. So sometimes after years the month of February becomes 29 days but most of the month of February is of only 28 days.
