In terms of consciousness, man is at the forefront of all living beings. No other creature has sent spaceships to the planets, invented life-saving vaccines, or created poetry.

How does the human brain use or process information to do all this? This is the question that has bound man in its infinite magic, but there is no definitive answer to this question. Our understanding of the brain has changed over time.

But according to current theories, the brain is a 'distributed information processing system'.

This means that there are different parts of the brain that are connected to each other by numerous wires. These parts communicate with each other by exchanging information through a system of incoming and outgoing signals.

However, this is only a small part of the more complex situation. Research published in the journal Nature Neuroscience uses evidence from various organisms and many neuroscientific theories to show that the brain does not process the same kind of information.

The way information is used also differs between humans and other living things, which explains why humans are at a higher level of consciousness.

To understand how the brain uses information, we use the mathematical concept of information theory. We know that different parts of the brain use different strategies to communicate with each other.

 

Parts of the brain exchange information in a very stereotyped way and use incoming and outgoing signals.

This ensures that the signals continue to send their message consistently and accurately. It relates to the parts that are responsible for perception and movement, such as the use of sound, vision and motion information.

Think of the eye that sends signals to the brain to use. It's mostly dual information that both eyes send.

That means it doesn't need half the information. However, it is strong and reliable, and that is why we can continue to see with one eye.

This ability is essential for survival. In fact, this ability is so important that different parts of the brain are connected to each other like a landline phone.

However, not all information sent by the eye is ambiguous, that is, not two identical pieces of information, one of which is unnecessary or redundant. The brain processes the depth and distance between objects with the same information sent by both eyes. This function of the brain is the basis of different types of 3D springs in cinema.

We call this process of processing information in the brain scientific, that is, when complex signals from different brain networks meet each other.

We want to know if the human brain's ability to collect and process information through complex networking is different from other creatures that are evolutionarily close to humans. This ability is called science.

 

To find out, Nature Neuroscience research examined data and genetic analysis of brain images from different animals. The study found that the human brain is more capable of processing complex information than monkeys.

The study looked specifically at the frontal lobe of the brain, called the prefrontal cortex. This part takes care of the highest level of work in terms of consciousness.

In monkeys, this part unnecessarily processes this unnecessary information, while in the human brain, this place is the source of science, that is, it is the place where information is collected and processed through complex networking.

That is why the human brain is better than other animals that are closest to humans in terms of evolution.
