Attack of titan is a Japanese dark fantasy anime adapted from the manga of the same name, written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama. It was premiered on April 7, 2013,and aired on NHK general TV in Japan. It was streamed on Crunchyroll, Funimation, Amazon Prime Video and Hulu. The fans across the world loved it and considered it as best from the start.
The story revolves around a boy Eren Yeager who lives behind the wall protecting humanity from giant man-eating titans. It is set in a post-apocalyptic world where human were hunted and preyed upon by titans. The only way to stay safe was to stay hidden in the wall. Attack of Titans follows the main protagonist Eren Yeager along his two friends Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert. When the colossal titan breaches the wall of their homeland, the city was destroyed and left in shambles. The following incident killed Eren's mother and out of sorrow and hatred, he pledges to exact his revenge on titans.
So he joins the elite survey corps, a group of skilled soldiers tasked to fight against titan uprisings. Attack on titan deals with the adventures of our protagonist and how he overcomes his difficulties. The anime also has some great character developments along the storyline. The show gives importance to each and every character necessary. The show also lacks filler episodes and focus only on it's plot, which makes the show very interesting and extraordinary. Attack of titans currently have 4 seasons and the second part of 4th season is currently on the way and is schedule to be aired on 2022.
The first season of Attack of titans narrates the basic plot of the show. It shows the tragedy that took place in his homeland and his strong determination to get revenge against titans. The first season also acts a base for other seasons. The second season narrates the adventures, the protagonist undergoes and an opens a new door to many unknown mysteries. The third as well as the fourth season unravels the mysteries and make up the final curtain for the show. Each set of seasons has their owns sets of action and trills which keeps the fans entertained.
Attack on titans currently has many fans and is considered as a masterpiece among the anime fans. The show taking a quick turn in forth season has made a huge contribution to the awaiting crowd. The anime is very realistic as well as interesting to watch, and unlike many other similar shows, it stays on storyline till the end. Therefore, it easily recognized as one of the greatest masterpiece of this time.
Attack on titans has become a great success in commercial level. It was also secured several awards including Kodansha Manga Award, Attilio micheluzzi and Award Harvey Award. The manga of AOT sold over 100 million copies, making it one of the best-selling manga series of all time.
