New Zealand are on top after dismissing Shubman Gill, Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant and Suryakumar Yadav in quick succession. Earlier, Dhawan and Gill provided Team India a solid start and the both batters crossed their respective half-centuries, but the duo gave the momentum to New Zealand after losing their wickets in quick succession. Earlier, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson won the toss and opted to bowl first in the first ODI of the three-match series on Friday at Eden Park, Auckland. Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh are making their ODI debuts while the likes of Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav are also in the side.
