One day in the life of a lion is better than a hundred years in the life of a fox
It is not uncommon to hear the phrase, "A day in the life of a lion is better than a hundred years in the life of a fox." And why did you say...?
While I was studying today, I came to know the truth.
Tipu Sultan who was a great ruler as well as a fearless and brave man.
Major Allen says:
Tipu Sultan's complexion was wheat. His nose was bright, his eyes watery and big. ****** Features were very delicate and limbs too small. He was five feet eight inches tall.
Tipu Sultan's nature was very simple. But his living conditions were very good. He would get up early in the morning, offer prayers, read the Quran for an hour after the prayer, then inspect the jewellery, and then go for a walk with the three princes and a scribe and have breakfast upon his return. Fruits and milk were more in his diet. Even in the night he would go for a walk before sleeping and then get busy in reading. And keep reading till you fall asleep.
Tipu Sultan was very good at offering Namaz. He used to pray and recite the Quran regularly. This can be gauged from the fact that when the grand mosque was inaugurated, the question arose as to who would lead the first namaz. what the sultan said then
"Alhamdulillah, I am fine." Then the Sultan led the first prayer.
The Sultan had a special attachment to the lions. He also liked the color of lions. The Sultan also made the color of the mosque of his house like the color of a lion. And hunting lions was his favorite pastime.
What can be said about the courage and might of Tipu Sultan.
Tipu Sultan was always victorious but he could not concentrate on the defense of Mysore in the fourth battle of Mysore. Mohammad Raza Khan, a loyal army commander, was also killed. On 17 April, British forces laid siege to the fort. Now Tipu Sultan was surrounded by traitors. Many of his companions lost their hearts and turned to the British. Then the loyal French officers advised the Sultan that
1) The fort should be handed over to the British and reconciliation should be done. Then Tipu Sultan said that it is against our tradition.
2) Hand over the fort to us and allow us to fight. But this too was ignored.
On the afternoon of 4 May 1799, the British army reached the fort's ramparts. Now the Sultan was fighting with some soldiers. A rich man said, "Save your life, show yourself." On this occasion Tipu Sultan said that
"One day in the life of a lion is better than a hundred years in the life of a fox."
And then, while they were fighting, they were martyred at sunset. And his bravery and high spirits set a high example that will live on for the rest of the world.
That is why Tipu Sultan is considered one of the bravest people in the world.
