Nikola Tesla
Nikola Tesla was a notable Serbian-American creator, electrical specialist, and mechanical designer who was granted around 300 licenses for his innovations. He was born on July 10, 1856, in Smiljan, Croatia. Duka Tesla, Tesla's mother, was an early source of inspiration for him because she invented small appliances when he was a child. As he developed some of the most significant inventions in history, including alternating current (AC) electricity and the Tesla Coil, it is evident that Tesla inherited his mother's creative spirit.
Education
Tesla attended school in Germany, Austria, and Prague while he was a child. He had the opportunity to travel to Budapest, where he worked at the Telephone Exchange, at the end of the 1870s. He improved some of his inventions while he was in Budapest, including the induction motor, which used electromagnetic induction from the magnetic field rather than electrical connections to the rotor to produce an alternating current system. He later attempted to draw attention to his proposed invention but was unsuccessful. In 1884, when he was 28 years old, he decided to move to the United States, where there were more opportunities. Tesla worked with Thomas Edison for a few months while he was in the United States. Tesla made the decision to leave Edison and pursue his own path as an inventor when Edison refused to compensate him for his work.
American businessman George Westinghouse provided Tesla with capital in 1887 for the purpose of starting a business. Tesla's induction motor was finished in time to compete with Edison's direct current system. During the 19th century's Industrial Revolution, Tesla's motor was found to be more durable, less expensive, and efficient than those of his rivals. In 1888, Tesla granted the Westinghouse Company a license for his invention. At the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893, Tesla set a new standard. Because it dispelled the public's doubts regarding the safety and dependability of alternating current, this presentation marked the turning point in public acceptance of the technology. The exhibit demonstrated the smooth operation of alternating current, which later became the predominant power system standard.
Tesla's work
The majority of Tesla's work, including his notes, designs, patents, and inventions, was destroyed in 1895 when a fire broke out in his New York laboratory. Tesla relocated to Colorado Springs following the trauma of losing everything. Tesla came up with the concept of a global wireless network for communication during this time. He was able to network with a wealthy financier named J.P. Morgan, and the two of them set up a laboratory on Long Island, New York, together.
Marconi
Marconi another well-known inventor, sent Morse code from England to Canada in 1901. However, Tesla believed Marconi had stolen some of his ideas for a global wireless network. The following year, Tesla came up with the "World Telegraphy System," a novel approach to communication in which individual receivers would collect and broadcast news stories from transmitting stations. However, Tesla lost the funding from J.P. Morgan that had supported his lab due to the infeasibility of his initial radio concept. Financial backers began to lean toward Marconi on account of his past progress and started subsidizing him all things considered.
Until his death on January 7, 1943, Tesla lived in poverty throughout his final years. The radio patent was returned to Tesla by the United States Supreme Court six months after his death. It is debatable why the United States initially revoked Tesla's radio patent, but many believe it was due to Marconi's substantial financial backing. Despite the tragic events of his final years, Tesla is remembered as an accomplished inventor who made significant advances in manufacturing, electricity, and communication.
