Who Slavery black History

Not everything that has to go down in African American history is outwardly positive. But we know that very terrible things have happened to the black population in America, which are undeniably a large part of the nation's history. So no survey of black history could be complete without a discussion of slavery. Few nations on earth have experienced an event so profoundly humiliating that it has become such a central part of their heritage and past. Yes, other tribes and races endured slavery, including American Indians and ancient Hebrews. Perhaps slavery is even more important to the psychology of African American culture because it is the central historical event that marked their beginnings as citizens of this country. It was not a citizenship born in nobility and honor, as many others in America can show. Not to come to America as slaves is to come to America with a little more value to your fellow citizens than mere cattle. And certainly, the lives of slaves in the early decades of American history were very cruel times. Slaves were  and denied everything that we could even call basic human rights today. It is difficult to gain any perspective on such a heinous crime against humanity as slavery without putting into context that this barbaric practice did not originate in America, but came to our shores as part of the background of many peoples including the Dutch, French and others. In some ways, slavery was an evolution of the indentured servant system, in which an immigrant traded a certain number of years of service to a master in exchange for payment of his travel expenses to get to America. But in the case of Africans who were brought on ships as slaves, there was no desire to come in chains to serve as property until death. The impossibility of hope in such a situation is almost impossible for any of us, black or white, in modern America to understand or appreciate. But the struggle of slaves to free themselves and eventually do so through the Underground Railroad or other means is a testament to the and that hope is something that is extremely hard to crush in the human heart. Has anything good come of the legacy of slavery in this country? Well, the bond that was formed in the hearts of the people was permanently cemented during those terrible years. The music that the slaves kept alive has been handed down to us as a rich legacy of spirituals we cherish because they were born in inhuman suffering. One thing that consistently came out of slavery in the African American community was a sense of determination to never return to such a time and a fight that was burned deep into the soul of the people to fight no matter how long or how hard. the civil rights of full citizens in this country. This would not have happened so profoundly if the peoples who came here and were identified only by the color of their skin had not endured slavery together. Before being pressed into service, the various peoples who became slaves came from many tribes and many people from all over Africa and beyond. Their nationalities were  they had the normal pride in people, customs, family relationships and history that anyone would have. All this was torn down when they were taken into slavery. But in the void left by these pivotal relationships, a new African-American brotherhood was born. And the pride that has risen in this new nation is strong and has grown steadily over the decades. It is built on a proud history and proud leadership. There have been many struggles and   and everything is by no means perfect. However, the African American people can be proud of how far the culture has come and use that pride to move toward greater black History
