Washington Tesla CEO Elon Musk was quick enough to reply to an action filed against him by Twitter for violating the USD 44 billion contract.
twinkles after news surfaced online that Twitter has sued him, Musk took to the microblogging point and just simply twittered," Oh the irony lol."
While his tweet didn't mention the action, it was apparent that he was pertaining to it, considering that, back in April, Twitter reportedly didn't indeed want to go through with the deal.
As per The Verge, the action was filed in Delaware's Court of Chancery on Tuesday, criminating Musk of insincerity.
" Twitter brings this action to enjoin Musk from farther breaches, to impel Musk to fulfill his legal scores, and to impel consummation of the junction upon satisfaction of the many outstanding conditions," Twitter stated in the action.
The action marks the morning of what could be a protracted legal battle as Twitter seeks to hold Musk to his deal to pay USD54.20 per share for the company.
Twitter, which is being represented by M&A hustler law establishment Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, contended that Musk looked for an escape from the deal, which needed a" material adverse effect" or breach of contract.
" Musk had to try to supplicate one of those," the actor stated.
Musk blazoned the termination of the USD 44 billion deal in a letter transferred by his platoon to Twitter last week. Musk decided to suspend the deal due to multiple breaches of the purchase agreement.
In April, Musk reached an accession agreement with Twitter at USD54.20 per share in a sale valued at roughly USD 44 billion. still, Musk put the deal on hold in May to allow his platoon to review the veracity of Twitter's claim that lower than 5 of the accounts on the platform are bots or spam.
Back in June, Musk had openly indicted the microblogging website of violating the junction agreement and hovered to walk down and call off the accession of the social media company for not furnishing the data he has requested on spam and fake accounts.
