Several games will receive $20 discounts, including ones that don’t commonly see such a big price drop. These include Chronicles: Definitive Edition, Astral Chain, and Paper Mario: The Origami King.
Here’s the list:
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
- New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe
- Super Mario Maker 2
- Kirby Star Allies
- The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening
- Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- Astral Chain
(Keep an eye out in case the digital versions of the games above are the same price as the physical version. If that’s the case, you might need a bigger micro SD card to store more games on.)
You can also get big discounts on more interactive experiences for Switch, including Ring Fit Adventure for just $55 (usually $80) and Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit for $60 (usually $100).
It is a steal if people are still buying these games for full price. It may not be worth it to you, but remember Nintendo is still moving massive amounts of consoles each quarter and those are all new customers buying up these games at full price.
Market value isn’t what some people think something is worth. Market value is the price consumers are willing to pay. Consumers have determined that $60 for 4-years old Nintendo games is good value and worth buying, so by that measure $40 is a steal.
I’ve got you beat. Paper Mario: Color Splash, on Wii U, has been $60 digital since the day it launched, never been on sale once. One of these days I’m going to cave and just order a used physical copy, but due to region lock, it’s going to have to come overseas.
TBH I’m one of those ‘enabler’ customers who bought a switch, beat Bot 4 years ago, sold it, now own another one, and will probably buy it again lol. Yes, I’m part of the problem, but so is the quality of Nintendo’s games, in spite of their dumb marketing/sales practices. I thought I was the only one. Just picked up an OLED model, my third Switch! Ring Fit Adventure has been a great hit here.
