Opposition leaders to hold a meeting on 17th July to discuss Vice-Presidential candidate

 

Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge has said that the opposition will meet on 17th July to discuss the vice-presidential candidate from the opposition. The name will not be from the Congress party but the one for which all opposition parties agree.

PM Modi participates in the first I2U2 summit

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the first I2U2 summit. He said that the group has established a positive agenda and identified joint projects in various sectors. The UAE will be investing $2 billion in India to develop food parks and boost green energy.

I2U2 Summit brings investment in India

 

The first I2U2 summit was held on 14th July with participating countries including India, Israel, US, and UAE. US and UAE will jointly invest in India in the areas of clean energy and food parks. A 300 MW hybrid renewable project will be established in Gujarat and the UAE will invest $2 billion for developing food parks in India.

Amid the political and economic crisis in the neighbouring country, India reiterated that it will stand with the people. The MEA said that the country must resolve its issues through democratic means and constitutional framework.

JMM announced their support to Draupadi Murmu

 

After weeks of speculation and discussions, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has given their support to NDA’s Presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu. The party said that they will support former Jharkhand governor, a tribal woman, and it would be an honour to have her elected as the country’s President.

BJP to meet on 16th July to discuss Vice-Presidential Candidate

 

BJP’s parliamentary board will be holding a meeting on 16th July to discuss their Vice-Presidential candidate for the upcoming elections. The party although has a majority in the house will be reaching out to other parties to support its candidate.

Eknath Shinde gives clearance, will review decisions by MVA government.

Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde will be reviewing decisions taken by the MVA government on 29th June including renaming of several places. He has also given clearances to many pending projects including the Bullet train project between Maharashtra and Gujarat.

Election Commission asks 18-plus voters to register themselves ahead of assembly polls

 

The Election Commission has notified Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, and Jammu & Kashmir for enrolment of 18 plus in the electoral roll ahead of assembly elections in these states.
