Think about the fact that this other side the alt-right they're using language like CRT which is a collegiate level course that is not taught in Latin county public school systems it's not being taught it never has those are that's coded language they are using words to appeal to a certain subset of the population that quite frankly does not like the fact that this county is becoming less white this is not about erasing American history we had bad things happen we took those bad things we learned from them we grew from them and where we ended up is a great place is traditionally the finest agricultural county in virginia came 1962 and that started the erosion of the agricultural community it was a very conservative democratic county gradually as people moved in from the suburbs it became more and more liberal was considered to have one of the best public school systems in the state in fact people would move to because of its public school system as a realtor know my clients are coming to because it was and used the word was the best county
the facts when you don't have the truth this is what people will read and this is what people will see m embarrassed to say that previous to this um this year when would go vote if there was a candidate that was interested in d vote for that candidate then 'd pick any mini mind mode for the rest local and state because wasn't paying attention m paying attention now because if the state and local players and actors have that much power over whether my children can breathe fresh air have to stick a vaccine in my arm think it's important that we know who those players are when said that children or that that parents had no right in their children's education we didn't deserve a seat at the table that woke up a lot of parents was he was so in tune to what the parents needed the parents wanted and what they were fighting for he heard us he really hurt us he heard our cry for help credit a lot of what happened leading up to win credit a lot of it to that dog whistle of speaking to racism mean i there's no other way to say it if you're you choose your battleground to be education then you pick subject a topic that's not even being taught that's a dog whistle we look at like for example of the school board members look at the fact that it's not a trend just in you look across the country other side they're using education as a platform think hard right leaning republicans have found an issue that resonates with parents education and think democrats have to come out swinging with their messaging and with their presence it is imperative that everybody that sees this happening in their communities stands up and speaks whether you're forming organizations whether you're speaking at school boards or town councils that is the strategy right now is they're starting at the local level on top of that we need to address the messaging that is coming from the other side it's not enough to say that's not true that in my opinion that's how that's how we can counter um counter this so that it's not repeated over and over in every state and then in 2023 on the federal level and then 24 for the presidential election this is a movement that's not going to slow down parents are never going to be quiet again we are never going to be asleep at the table when it comes to our children to their education to their upbringing god granted us this right to have a child and to raise that child not the government we will never ever co-parent with the government won't compromise on equity there are other areas where compromise is necessary everybody deserves safety everybody deserves protection everybody deserves education.
