WEDDING PLANNER AS A CAREER

One of the best ways to get started in the business is to work as an assistant for an established wedding planner. There are two paths to become a wedding planner:

 

  • PATH 1

Clear class 12 in any stream.

Pursue diploma in event management for 1-2 years.

Pursue PG diploma in event management for 1-2 years.

  • PATH 2

Clear class 12 in any stream.

Pursue graduation in any stream for 3 years.

Pursue PG diploma/MBA in event management for 1-2 years.

 

DO WEDDING PLANNERS MAKE GOOD MONEY?

The salary of a wedding planner can range significantly from a standard salary for newly minted wedding planners to mid-six figures for the highly experienced and business savvy ones. Your experience and education will dictate what your clients will be willing to pay you for your services. Even if you are new to wedding planning, if you have come from a similar field such as floral design, interior design, or hospitality, this will come across during your initial consultation and even in your marketing materials, both of which will support a more expensive price tag.
