We can't stop thinking about the lovable cast of Bridgerton season 2 now that it's available on Netflix. The new episodes are very different from the first, focusing on a completely different member of the Bridgerton family: Anthony.
As a result, some characters (such as Daphne) are fading into the background, while others (such as Eloise) are shining brighter than we could have imagined.
The following is a ranking of Bridgerton characters from worst to best.
12. SIMON BASSETT
Played by: Regé-Jean Page
In season one, Simone Basset (AKA the Duke of Hastings) captured America's heart when he courted the one and only Daphne Bridgerton. Despite his popularity, the character does not appear in any of the new installments. As a result, he is no longer at the top of the list.
11. LADY PORTIA FEATHERINGTON
Played by: Polly Walker
Lady Portia Featherington has good intentions, but she goes about them incorrectly. While she is desperate for her daughters to find love, she will go to any length to get her way. This entails duping Cousin Jack into marrying her daughter, Prudence, and setting up a totally fake gemstone business to conceal her dwindling fortune.
10. CRESSIDA COWPER
Played by: Jessica Madsen
Cressida Cowper is pegged as the villain, but we feel sorry for her. Despite the fact that she, like everyone else, is looking for a husband, she becomes the unwitting victim of Lady Featherington's schemes (the only reason she isn't ranked last).
9. QUEEN CHARLOTTE
Played by: Golda Rosheuvel
Queen Charlotte may be royal, but we have to agree with Lady Whistledown: the monarch's practice of selecting a "diamond" each year (or the girl who stands out the most) is archaic.
8. KATE SHARMA
Played by: Simone Ashley
Kate Sharma is a new character introduced in season two. Although Kate is single (as is her sister Edwina), she swears she intends to remain so and plans to return to India once her sister marries. She isn't afraid to say what she thinks, even if it offends Lady Danbury, but her lack of communication with her sister sparks a family feud no one saw coming.
7. DAPHNE BRIDGERTON
Played by: Phoebe Dynevor
What's not to adore about Daphne, now a wife and mother? We have nothing against the character, but she is no longer the focal point of the story. As a result, she didn't stand out as much as her siblings this season.
6. THEO SHARPE
Played by: Calam Lynch
Theo, yet another new character, works at the print shop where Lady Whistledown sends her manuscripts. When Eloise discovers this secret, she begins a playful banter with Theo, which is frowned upon because Theo is a blue-collar worker. FYI I'm 100% #TeamTheo.
5. LADY DANBURY
Played by: Adjoa Andoh
Lady Danbury sponsors those entering the social world, housing them and advising them as they court suitors. This includes the Sharma family, who have a tumultuous history. Despite Kate's rebellious nature and Edwina's role in the spotlight, Lady Danbury has cemented her position as one of the Ton's most respected elders...and it shows.
4. ANTHONY BRIDGERTON
Played by: Jonathan Bailey
Anthony Bridgerton let Daphne shine in season one, but he steals the show in season two. In the second installment, Anthony meets a rebellious mystery woman in the woods. At the ball, he meets Edwina (the new diamond) and discovers that she is related to Kate. Although he makes a number of poor decisions, his intentions are pure...and that is all that matters.
3. EDWINA SHARMA
Played by: Charithra Chandran
Meet Kate's sister Edwina, who enters society under Lady Danbury's supervision. She is paired up with Anthony Bridgerton right away, but she soon discovers that he has already fallen for Kate. Her transformation from a refined lady to a vengeful sibling is simply entertaining.
2. PENELOPE FEATHERINGTON
Played by: Nicola Coughlan
Bridgerton's underdog is Penelope (or "Pen" for short). She is frequently overlooked by suitors, but she is far more powerful than she appears. She not only moonlights as Lady Whistledown, but her words have the power to change society.
1. ELOISE BRIDGERTON
Played by: Claudia Jessie
Eloise is without a doubt the season two breakout star, retaining a no-nonsense demeanor while confronting her privilege head on. It doesn't take long for her to form a connection after meeting Theo. However, Eloise soon realizes that her family's social standing has limited her dating pool, excluding people like Theo. Her reaction earned us a lot of respect for her.
