Who is Sadhguru ?

Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev is an Indian yogi, spiritual leader and founder of the Isha Foundation, a non-profit organization that offers yoga programs worldwide. He was born on September 3, 1957 in Mysore, India. He learned yoga in his childhood from a guru named Malladihalli Swami. Sadhguru's early life was marked by a deep interest in spirituality and a desire to understand the nature of life and consciousness. He started practicing yoga and meditation at an early age and eventually attained spiritual enlightenment. He has already traveled to the Himalayas quite a few times. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In the 1980s, Sadhguru founded the Isha Foundation, which has since grown into a global organization with a focus on yoga and meditation. He has written books on spiritual topics such as death, inner engineering, Adhiyogi and has given many talks and lectures on topics such as inner transformation, the role of yoga in modern life and the nature of consciousness. His books have been published in many languages around the world. Sadhguru was honored with Padma Vibhushan in 2017. The Isha Foundation established by him set a world record in 2006 by planting the most trees and the statue of Adhiyogi is also included in the world record.

 

 

 

Sadhguru has launched a campaign called Isha Sanskriti to promote Indian culture in which Indian music, Bharatanatyam, Kalaripayattu etc. are taught.

 

 

 

Apart from his spiritual activities, Sadhguru is also actively involved in social and environmental causes. He has worked to promote education and health care in rural areas of India, and initiated various environmental projects, including planting more than 40 million trees. On 31st July 2019, Satguru started the Kaveri Calling Mission.

 

Isha Foundation launched a campaign called "Save The Soil" to raise awareness about the importance of soil and the need to protect it. Save Soil Champaign has been successful in reaching over 3.4 billion people.

 

Soil is an important resource that supports a wide range of functions, including food production, water filtration and carbon sequestration. However, soil is facing many threats, such as erosion, pollution and overuse, which can lead to soil erosion and reduced productivity. "Save The Soil" the campaign aims to educate people about the importance of soil and encourage them to take action to protect it.

 

 

 

As part of the campaign, Isha Foundation has organized several programs and initiatives to promote soil conservation and sustainable agriculture. These include tree plantation and soil conservation projects, educational workshops, and public talks on soil and environmental conservation by Sadhguru and other experts. The aim of the campaign is to bring together people from different sectors including farmers, policy makers and researchers to share knowledge and ideas about soil protection and conservation.
