Indian actress Nayanthara, whose real name is Diana Mariam Kurian and she was born on November 18, 1984, primarily works in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam films. She is one of India's highest-paid actresses and the only one from the South to be listed in Forbes India's "Celebrity 100" list for 2018. Over the course of her two-decade career, she has acted in over 80 films and received multiple accolades, including five Filmfare Awards South. She is known as the "lady superstar" of Indian cinema because of the impression she made with her renowned filmography.
In 2003, Nayanthara starred in her first Malayalam film, Manassinakkare. She debuted in Telugu movie with Lakshmi (2006) and in Tamil cinema with Ayya (2005). Her performance as Goddess Sita in the 2011 mythological film Sri Rama Rajyam won her the Nandi Award for Best Actress and the Filmfare Award for Best Actress in Telugu. For her roles in the action comedy Naanum Rowdy Dhaan (2015), the political drama Aramm (2017), and the romantic comedy Raja Rani (2013), she was awarded the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actress and the Filmfare Award for Best Actress - Tamil. For her work in the crime drama Puthiya Niyamam (2016), she won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Malayalam.
Following her breakthrough performance in the female-driven films Anaamika (2014), Maya (2015), Kolamavu Kokila (2018), Airaa (2019), and Netrikann (2022), Nayanthara went on to become one of the most prominent actresses in South Indian cinema.
