Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) was born in the holy city of Mecca in 570 AD, believed to be the 12th or 17th day of Rabbi ul Awal.
Descendants of Prophet Ismail (AS)
Muslims believe that Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is the descendant of another prophet, Ismail (AS), best known for his story related to why we give Qurbani every year. There are about 2,670 years between the two prophets.
Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) was an orphan
The father of the Prophet (AS) ABDULLAH IBN ABD AL MUTTALIB died before Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) was born. He was sent to live with a dairy mother in the desert at a young age, as was the case at the time, where he was breastfed by HALIMAH of the Banu Saad tribe.
Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) reunited with his mother AMINAH BINT WAHB at the age of six, but he was to die just a year later in 577 AD. He is the grandfather of the Prophet Abdul Muttalib (Peace Be Upon Him) who took the young Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and was later adopted by his uncle his father Abu Talib ibn Abdul Muttalib.
Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) Named ‘Faithful’ in Medina
In Medina, Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) gained a reputation as someone who was honest and trustworthy, especially in the Jewish society and who was highly respected by everyone. Thus, he was given the name 'Faithful'.
Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) Married to His First Wife, Sayyida Khadija, 25
At the age of 25, the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) was proposed to by SAYYIDA KHADIJA who was 40 at the time and accepted her hand in marriage. She would be the wife of the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) only 25 years before her death in 619 AD in the same year that Muhammad's uncle (Peace Be Upon Him) died - this was known as the year of tribulation.
According to Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) Khadija had between six and eight children, and experts could not agree on how many spouses they had. All their children died in infancy.
The Angel Jibreel First Appeared to Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) in 610 AD
It was in the year 610 AD that the Angel Jibreel appeared to the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) in the cave of Hira and shared the first revelations of the Quran. It was during this time that Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) became the Prophet of Allah (SWT) and began secretly gathering followers in Mecca. He would begin to spread the message of Islam publicly three years later in 613 AD.
He Did Not Eat Alone
Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) would not eat alone and would always go out of his way to invite others to dine with him. Eating together is considered Sunnah and the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) also advises others to eat alone when the opportunity arises for another.
The Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) is quoted as saying: "When food has four qualities it becomes perfect: to be halal, to eat with other people, beginning with the name of God, and ending with the praise of God."
Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is the last Prophet of Allah. His prophecy is sufficient for all mankind to the end of the world. No one will be blessed by prediction and no previous prophet will be followed. The person who accepts Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) as a prophet but not the last, is nothing but a refusal. The Prophecy of the Holy Prophet has two parts. Firstly he is a prophet, secondly he is the last prophet of Allah Almighty. The Quran makes it clear that the Prophecy was started by HAZRAT ADAM and ended by the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him). No prophet will come after Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him). It shows that his prophecy is worldwide. He is not a prophet of his day but a prophet of all ages. It should be obeyed in all ages. Truth is eternal. Modern slave labor is useless. Islam guides people in all walks of life. It is a complete code of life.
