Who is the wisest and most intelligent? Male or female? This question has been asked around the world ever since. Scholars differ. Some say male and some say female.
But the correct answer has been given to a Tamil poet named Karmega kavignar.
He wrote a book entitled 'Kongu mandala sathakam' in which he answered this question. Kongu mandalam is the present Coimbatore district in Tamilnadu, India. This sathakam contains 100 verses that give glory to this famous region.
In verse 65 the poet gives a true story of what happened in Sangagiri, a small town in the Kongu area.
There was once a great poet named Emperuman. He named the great work "Takkai isai Ramayanam" His name and fame spread far and wide and many poets became his friends.
They often came to Karamega kavignar's house to find a useful textual debate.
Scholars once visited his home as usual. But the poet was not present as he was nearing completion of an emergency.
His wife Poongothai, by name, was very intelligent and intelligent. As was the custom in the past, he kept them indoors while the scholars lived in a small front room. They started talking.
While they were talking one poet said casually that even if women were educated they would not expect to be old. Another said that women are generally less intelligent and less intelligent. The third said that they are only for cooking and raising children.
Poongothai inside the front hall of the house listened to the whole debate.
All these points were heard by Poongothai. He soon wrote a poem in Venba format, a type of prosody in Tamil, on a small palm leaf and sent it to opposing intellectuals in a small child.
The poem he wrote was read aloud. He said, "Actually, only women are mature and men are a little smart and not so smart. Don't you understand, oh, a woman only understands when she's pregnant. But no man under the world can understand or give birth to a boy or a girl.
All the poets were shocked to see this poetic poem. This poem gave great insight to all.
Suddenly they all entered the hall and knelt before Poongothai and apologized. They begged him to forgive them.
At that moment the great poet, Poongothai's husband entered the house and was shocked to see all his friends at his wife's feet.
He learned what had happened.
Everyone praised the husband and wife and the news spread like wildfire.
The King also heard the incident and called a poet to kneel before Poongoathai.
Poongothai therefore became very popular and the most difficult question was answered correctly.
An ancient Tamil work called 'Neeti Venba' in one of its verses (verses 30) describes a perfect woman as follows:
You will be as beautiful as gold. You will have patience as the earth. The good breasts will satisfy her husband in bed as a prostitute and will help her husband as an educated servant at all times.
Of course, Women are bigger, smarter and smarter than men!
