Harris Jayaraj (born 8 January 1975, Tirunelveli) is a music composer in the Tamil film industry. He has composed background music and songs for many Tamil films. He has also composed music for Telugu and Hindi films. He lives in Chennai.

Early life :
Harris Jayaraj was born into a Christian Nadar family in Chennai. His father S. M. Jayaraj rose from being a guitarist in the film industry to a music composer. Having worked as an assistant to Malayalam music composer Shyam, he was eager to see his son become a great singer. But Harris, who studied at Krishnasamy Matriculation School in Chennai, had a great interest in music. Harris, who claims that his vocals are uncooperative as a singer, takes heart from Hans Zimmer's works. He married Joyce. He has a son Samuel Nicholas and a daughter Karen Nikita. He started his musical journey at the age of 12 (1987). He started as a guitar player and later learned to play musical instruments like the keyboard. He has worked with more than 25 composers in languages like Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam. He has worked with famous music composers like AR Raghuman, Rajkoti, Manisarma, Karthik Raja, Vidyasagar.

Haris Jayaraj, who entered the film industry in 2001 as a music director, made a big mark with his first film 'Minnele'.
Studio H :
Harris opened another studio on 8 January 2017, called Studio H. The studio comprises of the most recent sound recording frameworks and innovation. The principal melody to be created in the studio was Halena from Iru Mugan. The S3 soundtrack was the principal project altogether made here

In 2011, he announced that he was going to hold a music concert called Harris on the Edge.
