When you think of yoga, you may first think of postures that emphasize self-awareness and flexibility. However, you can combine the poses into a series of poses called yoga acrobatics. In these acrobatics, the poses are performed in a free-flowing sequence that adds to your overall yoga experience. When your yoga teacher is training to create an orientation for you, you can do some of the existing sequences on your own, once you know what they are. Surya NASTAR, and Warrior II are two of the most famous in the West.

 

Sun salutation

 

One of the most popular scenes is the sun salutation. It is a single stream of 12 different yoga poses. With everything, you should inhale while stretching and exhale as you compress or twist your body. This unique Vinyasa is designed to increase your strength and maximize your overall comfort. As with most acrobatics, you may find variations on the yoga style you use, but some basic postures and flows are very consistent between variations.

 

For Surya Namaskar, you go through the flow twice to complete a rotation. Do this once to the right side of the body and another time to your left side. Even if you are crunching for time, try to do at least one. Doing half of the sequence will also help you stay refreshed.

 

The sun salutation begins with the mountain. From there you go with your arms raised, head to knees, lungs, plank and stick. While still drifting, you move upstairs to the dog, down dog and lounge. Finally, the sequence ends with a head-to-knee lift, arms raised and again a mountain. As you can see, Surya Namaskar is naturally round, like many other yoga scenes.

 

Warrior II

 

Another popular order for yogis in the West is called Triangle or Warrior II. This unique Vinyasa will hold your breath. Although it is generally recommended that you try to move it between positions with the speed of your breathing, you can experiment with different breathing patterns to see what works best for you and how each one helps you. Warrior II Sequence works through four poses. You will use mountain, triangle, warrior II and standing yoga poses. When moving in that order, you will irregularly hold your breath over time.
