What followed was communication between people in a multiplayer environment. The first such game was called DUNGEON. DUNGEON had players competing against each other to complete a series of demands. DUNGEON is provided with new settings and players each time a user logs in.

 

In the late 1970's, the madness of the video game began with the advent of computer technology. As a natural sequence, people began to write their own home computer games. These program hobbies trade and sell these home games at local markets.

 

Other changes in the 1970's were home toys that used game cartridges. That meant people could collect game cartridges for one basic unit instead of having big game console systems.

 

80s - some stop before the storm

 

The 1980's saw an increase in the popularity of video and computer games, but online games had not yet reached the horizon. New games with better sound and graphics were introduced and gained popularity. Pole Position and two PAC-men have gained much popularity. It was in the mid-1980's when Nintendo launched its first gaming platform.

 

90s - the revolution begins

 

The 1990s saw dramatic growth in both popularity and technology due to the rise of 3-D and multimedia.

 

Myst, a clever adventure game has introduced games in CD-ROM format. Hardware for Fancier 3-D graphics have made FPS (first person shooting) games like Quake possible.

 

In the late 1990’s saw the remarkable growth of the internet, the MUD (multi-user holes) making online games became very popular. The new and improved graphics interaction had people all over the world playing against each other not only in FPS games but also in real-time strategy games (RTS games) and third-party games such as Grand Theft Auto.

 

This is also the time when websites start offering online games like titers, ping pong, Mario bros, super Mario, and other free online flash games and free flash games for free to play after registration with them. This really pushed online games into the famous psyche.

 

21st Century - the world is just a playground

 

The first 21st century was full of DVD-CD-ROM. It has changed the way games are played online. The latest gaming consoles such as the Sony Gaming Channel and Microsoft's X-box have interactive features so that people can play alone in real time around the world. Broadband internet services are growing exponentially making playing online games possible in the true sense of the word.

 

The only answer to the ever-changing technology of online games is that what you buy today may expire next year. Fortunately, for the avid player, the retail industry of these online games is huge. This retail industry is just another part of the ever-changing history of the online game.

Fun- Most online games are fun. Comparing wits to a computer is fun and that fun makes players play more. it is a test of player and computer skills. That excitement can make people play for hours.

 

The feeling of winning- the feeling of winning cannot be explained by simple words. That should have it. When a player wins against a computer, it gives up and raises confidence. It is a great hormone booster.

 

There is no thunder except that there is value. One can try to sell anything, but success will only be achieved when the user gets the price. Online games have value for users and that is why they are so popular.
