Which is the best credit card processor for small businesses?

Small business is a very broad term! But it depends on how much processing you are doing and what kind of services are required.

Startups that process the sub $ 3,000 level are best with Gita, PayPal or Square ... these are aggregators. Aggregators provide a merchant account across the board and provide slightly different merchant services to others.

Merchant account providers provide each merchant with their own merchant account. It ends with extra freedom and convenience for businesses, but also with cheaper futures rates. For growing and growing businesses, merchant account providers are a great choice.

For small-volume businesses, not the new business with too many credit card transactions or limited growth, Square and PayPal are great options.

Rather than repeating what has already been said, here are some things to look for when choosing the "best" credit card processor solution for your small business:

  Cost per month:

Low monthly fees will keep your overhead low and get the money back in your pocket. Do not be confused with high monthly fees if your monthly transaction size is small. Look without the monthly fee, but keep in mind that these fees are often generated by processors with high transaction fees.

  Initial cost:

There is nothing worse than spending your hard earned money on one of the manual card swipers with paper boxes, only to know that you will never use them again! Arg. Go digital whenever possible!

  Account setup time:

Let’s face it, we live in a “I want tomorrow” economy. If your processor does not start fast enough for you, #forgetaboutit.

Look for processors that have an easy online application process, approval notification and the ability to quickly get more customers to your goods or service before they go anywhere.

  Customer service:

With card processors, customer service should be a two-way street between you, your processor and most importantly your customer.

You must be able to access your processor 24x7 to eliminate any discrepancies and to ensure that your charges are cleared.

Your customer should receive a payment receipt through their email account as soon as possible

  Internet based features:

Tracking your sales online is old news. If you work 24x7 like most business owners then reviewing your transactions via smartphone is a huge advantage.

Other Features: View the ability to download the CSV file of transactions. It allows you to consolidate your transactions in your accounting software for monthly settlement.

POS / Swiper / Reader Features

The convenience of accepting credit cards anywhere starts with a trusted POS reader that integrates seamlessly with your business operations.

If most of your transactions are face-to-face, think about how a smartphone-based reader will increase your sales.

As a small business owner I have had multiple merchant accounts for years. I have not yet found a single processor that is honest and sincere about all the charges, even for those who say it transparently and openly.

I am currently trying Square in parallel with my other processors and so far they have not surprised me. I'm in a very small business category, so this seems like a reasonable solution for my business.

They do not have low rates and have one or two days before they are credited to my account, so those with higher transaction volumes may be better off negotiating with a traditional processor and at a lower rate.

Finally, I like the wow effect of the square. Their website, report and card reader all have the same sleek yet simple design ideal.

If you have an iPhone, wait until your customer receives an email receipt from their purchase, complete with a picture of what they purchased, they will stand in front of you.
