Got an old pc with an Intel HD Graphics, looking for a new GPU, if you’re going to do that you definitely need some things taken into consideration. But if you don’t know at all which GPU to buy, then you’ve come to the right place. In this article, I’m gonna explain to you which GPU is best for you, which factors you should take into consideration, which components you must buy in order to get full benefit from the GPU.
Which GPU you need:
1. Gaming: If you want to play games like Red Dead Redemption 2, Horizon Zero Dawn, AC Valhalla in 1080p low-medium and constant 30fps, GTX 1050 Ti, RX 570 4gb are your choices. If you wanna play game games at 1080p High at 30fps, you’ll need a GTX 1060 6gb or an RX 570 8gb or a GTX 1660. Wanna enjoy them at 1080p High 60fps, RTX 2060 Super, RX 5500 XT are your choices. And for 2k gaming, RTX 3060, RX 6600, RTX 3060 Ti, RX 6600 XT, RTX 3070. For 4k, RTX 3080, 3080 Ti, 3090, 3090Ti, RX 6800 XT, RX 6900 XT are your choices.
If your budget is not that high, GT 1030 or RX 550 might be the best GPU for you. It can run many modern high-end games at 720p low and 30fps. It also supports DX12. Instead, you can buy an old GTX 660 or R7 cards, but it won’t give you modern drivers support.
These are just oversimplified system requirements. For getting the official system requirements of all game and to know whether your configuration will be able to run it, visit: https://www.pcgamebenchmark.com/
2. Professional Works: If you wanna do staffs like video editing, animation, game building, graphic designing, you’re going to need a good GPU for that. But that also depends on your type of work. If you’re just doing some lightweight works, like editing some photos slightly(not professional editing works), or trimming some videos and adding, you don’t need a high-end graphics card. But if you’re using intensive software like Adobe Premiere Pro or Blender(Intensive works), then you’re going to need a high-end GPU or at least an average GPU that meets its requirements.
For Adobe Premiere Pro:
Minimum: 2 GB of GPU memory;
Recommended: 4 GB of GPU memory for HD and some 4K media
6 GB or more for 4K and higher
For Unity: DX10, DX11, and DX12-capable GPUs
Which GPU your PC will suite:
1. Your CPU: If you have a Core I3 2nd Gen or equivalent processor, you might hardly be able to use a GT 730. It is recommended to upgrade your CPU. A 4 Core processor is a minimum requirement these days. A Core I5 2400 equivalent would be capable of a GT 1030. A Core I3 8100 equivalent would be capable of a GTX 1050 Ti. A Core I3 10100f should be able to pair with a GTX 1660. A Core I5 10400f equivalent is powerful enough to pair with an RTX 3060.

2. Your PSU: If you have a power supply of 200-250W, then GT 1030 would be a good choice for you. Anything more than that won’t be supported by your power supply. For a GTX 1050 Ti, a 300-350W is recommended. For an RTX 3060, a 550W PSU should be installed. An RTX 3080 needs 750W PSU installed. For an RTX 3090, this requirement is 850W.

You should have slightly higher power supply installed than needed to run your PC risk-free .
