Which Foods Are Good For Diabetes Patient??

Brewer's yeast

Brewer's yeast is a great food. It is rich in trace amounts of the mineral chromium. This helps the pancreas produce more insulin. It is one of the best supplements for the normal processing of sugar by the body.

Broccoli

A close relative of cauliflower, broccoli has long been a popular dish in Europe. This vegetable has been proven to be an effective anti-diabetic food. It is a rich source of chromium, a trace mineral that lowers blood sugar. This  mineral regulates blood sugar.  In mild cases of diabetes, chromium can prevent the onset of full-fledged disease. If a person's glucose tolerance is borderline, chromium can help control it. Even low blood sugar levels can be brought back to normal with chromium.

Curd

Curd injects friendly bacteria into the digestive tract, which stimulates the pancreas. She also washes her pancreas of its acids and wastes. These cleansing actions make the pancreas work much better and thus aid in insulin production.

Garlic

In scientific studies, it has been found that garlic and its components reduce blood sugar in diabetes. This vegetable is rich in potassium, which replaces large amounts of potassium lost in the urine of diabetics. It also contains zinc and sulfur, which are components of insulin. Some authorities believe that low zinc levels may be one of the factors responsible for the onset of diabetes.

Garlic also contains manganese, a deficiency of which can contribute to diabetes. Garlic components seem to act by blocking the inactivation of insulin in the liver. In the result,  blood insulin is higher levels and lower blood sugar.

Besides lowering blood sugar, garlic has other benefits for diabetes. It prevents atherosclerosis, which is a common complication of diabetes, and alleviates the edema that the body pays for. Diabetics can take the equivalent of one or two garlic cloves a day in any form they want, whether raw, cooked, or in capsules. Garlic milk, prepared by adding four cloves of crushed garlic to 110 ml of milk, is a good way to get garlic. But the best way is to thoroughly chew raw garlic first thing in the morning.

 Chickpeas

The Bengal gram, also known as chickpeas, is a widely used important component of the Indian diet. Experiments have shown that taking the water extract of the Bengal gram by mouth increases glucose utilization in diabetics as well as in normal people. In a study conducted at the Central Food Technological Research Institute in Mysore, the insulin requirement of chronic diabetes patients decreased from 40 units per day to 20 units per day when kept on a diet containing liberal supplements of Bengal gram extract.

Diabetic patients who did not severely limit their carbohydrate intake but followed a restricted diet containing liberal amounts of Bengal gram extract showed significant improvement in fasting blood glucose levels, glucose tolerance, urinary sugar excretion, and general condition.

Bitter Gourd

Bitter gourd is a common, widely grown vegetable.  This vegetable has been used as a coat for diabetes since ancient times. Studies have revealed that it contains an insulin-like principle called plant insulin, which has been found beneficial in lowering blood and urine sugar levels.

Bitter gourd is therefore an effective anti-diabetic food and should be included in a large amount in a diabetic's diet. Juice of three or four bitter gourds taken every morning on an empty stomach has been found to be more effective than eating fruit. Bitter gourd seeds can be ground into powder and added to regular dishes. A decoction prepared by boiling chopped bitter gourd is equally effective in water as dry powder mixed with liquid foods.

Bitter gourd is rich in all essential vitamins and minerals, especially vitamins A, B1, B2, C and iron. Therefore, its regular use prevents many complications associated with diabetes, including hypertension, eye complications, neuritis, and defective carbohydrate metabolism.

Black Gram

Black gram is a highly valued pulse in India. Sprouted black gram, taken with half a cup of fresh bitter gourd juice, forms an effective remedy for the treatment of mild types of diabetes. It should be taken once a day for three to four months with a limited carbohydrate intake.

In severe diabetes, regular use of this combination is an effective complement to other treatments. Milk prepared by grinding the sprouted whole black gram is also recommended for diabetics.

Peanut

Peanuts are valuable in diabetes. Eating a handful of peanuts a day for diabetics not only prevents malnutrition, especially niacin deficiency, but also controls the development of vascular complications.
